Mooney - Kent State. What side of town in Youngstown? Where did you hang out both in Youngstown and Kent?

Boardman area doing things most kids did in the early 2000's -- Southern Park mall, Tinseltown movies and my personal favorite, the cheap movies at Movies 8. We were big fans of Quaker Steak so we'd hang out there a lot would go over to the one in Sharon PA with a big group on all you can eat night! In Kent when I got of a legal drinking age we would hang out at the usual Water Street haunts (Rays, The Loft, Water Street Tavern). And of course The 11th Frame when we wanted an adventure. The Robin Hood was on its way out in my days so I was never really there. Hopefully you know Kent, or these places won't make any sense to you!

Kent was my alma mater as well. Where did you live there? I remember the Robin Hood well, my junior year it became an all black bar. Everything you just said brought me down memory lane, but it's still information that is easy to look up. I'm not saying you did, but I'm saying that it wouldn't surprise me considering what I've seen on these boards. Let me apologize for pre-judging a new poster, but you also need to understand some of this forum's past members, trolls etc. the Black Hand was started by some great guys who were all members of other forums who got tired of the shit that GBB and Real Deal was going through. The members here are a great group of guys and a gal who just aren't looking for bullshit. Sure, spats happen and words are spewed but everybody on here is adult enough to move forward and kill the argument. Also keep in mind that not many people talk about Youngstown, very few actually. However, it's mob history is as glamorous as any major city and you'll meet some professional researchers, authors, news journalists, regular Joe's and guys who were either related to or a "friend" of the family.

This board is an oasis for me from the stresses of everyday family life which is why I'm not looking for a beef.

JCB - apology accepted. No harm done. I'm not looking for any trouble either. As for where I'm from and the chance I'm making that up, I understand. But as for Kent, I lived in Wright Hall (Tri Towers) to start. Which led to almost every meal being eaten at Rosie's Diner. Then I lived at University Townhomes. My friends who didn't live there lived on University Drive. As for some things that only someone who went there would know I'll try to name a few real quick... Having to park at Dix Stadium as a freshman and shuttle over to campus because you couldn't have a car on campus, depending when you went to Kent you should remember taking Seven Ideas That Shook The Universe, watching the May 4th video as a part of your freshman requirements, hanging out in the Rathskeller below to Student Center, or heading over to the Chapel Hill Mall because there's nowhere to shop in Kent.

I'm sure all of these things could be somewhat looked up as well, but I think they are some things I remember from my time there.

And as for meeting people and engaging in conversation, that's what I'm hoping to do. So hopefully I can come across as someone who is genuinely interested and not a troll. I'm sure it will take time but I understand. I look forward to learning more and having a good relationship with everyone.

Pretty convincing. Please understand that as good as this forum is, we had issues with a troll that threatened a few of us. Hard to believe but I've been threatened a few times along the way. Internet threats are mostly made by cowards that hide behind a keyboard, so fuck them!

Just out of my own personal curiosity: Did your parents have a favorite spot in Boardman, either for dinner, drinks or both?

I remember the original Nicolini's in Austintown. As well as Sgachetti's on 4 mile Run Rd/Mahoning Ave. I'm still a sucker for Patsy's Place in Campbell when I am in town. Best butterflied smelts since Medure's in New Castle.

LOL, no doubt! In fact, there was a girl that I had the class with, she was a 1994 grad from Ursuline who also went to Kent when I was there. I used to finger blast her in the planetarium, made my Wednesdays very enjoyable. She had the tits of Carmen Electra back then.

They should put this on the syllabus as an endorsement for the class.

Is anyone familiar with the name Bobby "Boo" Vetriano, connected to the Bonanno Family somehow? I can´t remember why I have him listed as a Bonanno mobster. Does he even exist? And also Dominick Saputo?

The only Saputo I've ever heard of with reference to the Bonannos is Lino Saputo and his family. Maybe one is named Dominic. Lino is one of the richest men in the world, and The Cheese King and his family have a huge chunk of the dairy industry. There has been accusations and rumors about them over the years, including with a huge money laundering operation. About a half billion or so.
