Pennisi met DeSantis on a more than a few occasions and it seemed like they had a good relationship. Pennisi was sitting at a table with DeSantis at either a social club or restaurant and it was them and handful of other guys talking about the state of the borgata. According to Pennisi, someone at the table asked DeSantis “what does the future of this family look like?” And apparently DeSantis pointed at Pennisi and said “this guy is what the future of this family looks like” or something along those lines. He included a few other guys in that “future”, he wasn’t just singling out Pennisi, but it’s clear they had a good relationship

DiSimone was on the list of the 8 Bronx guys who were going to be killed if Crea balked at Madonna stepping down back in 2017.
Pennisi has said that DiSimone has the qualities that a good consigliere needs. DeSimone was a "good guy, even tempered, with a lot on the ball. They picked a guy who deserves it."
