It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Vincent Solano was a Chicago capo for 16 years. Never convicted, died in his 70s.

I'm hesitant to put Joseph Ferriola here as he died relatively young (61) and was less than a year away from a major indictment. Still, he made a ton of money as a capo and had a huge crew.

Peter DeFeo: came up under Lucky Luciano and Mike Miranda. Very wealthy. Had a trucking company, and influence on Manhattan’s Banana pier, and carpenters union. Not sure he ever faced any major cases.

Richie the Boot a good choice.

Tommy Gambino? Super wealthy. Didn’t do too much prison time.

Genovese in the 80's had powerhouse guys who'd never served: Gerardo, Canterino, Allie Shades, Buster Ardito, Gatto in Jersey.

Shades appears retired and only did a few years in the 90's. Not a bad run. Ardito never did time IIRC. Crazy.

I think that the OP only wanted NY captains, but if we’re talking Chicago, I’d put Ross Prio and Fifi Buccieri too.
