Would it have been a wise move for Vic to hit Gaspipe?

Who knows? Maybe he killed a bunch of hanger-ons that nobody knows about like DeMeo did.gaspipe wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 4:54 pmHow many bodies did Gas have by his own hands?Shellackhead wrote:Why didn’t Vic Amuso act on it before he flipped, the family would’ve been in a much better state. Vic seemed kind of weak imo & casso as the real power. And definitely after Gas got shot he became even worse, I guess he thought he really was untouchable. But i think casso wasn’t scared to shoot because he grew up deer hunting with his pops & his first murder who was that neighborhood rapist. Forgot his name but casso didnt have second thoughts over taking a liteslimshady_007 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 8:18 pmI think Gas was the main problem. Not saying that Vic wasn’t a homicidal maniac but Gas’s insecurity & his delusional paranoia took a giant toll on the Lukes. In my opinion, Vic couldn’t control him. I think Gas became more callous after he was shot in 86. Just look at what he did to Jimmy Hydel. Casso was truly one of the worst, guy was out of his fucking mind. To make matters even worse for the Lukes, Gas became a rat when the feds finally caught him.
The rapist
Hydell
The dude he buried alive

Re: Mikey Salerno
Everything's so convoluted with him and it's all on Carlo.
Like did he have 747s full of drugs coming from.S. America?
Did he try and wage a war vs the cartels... on his own? Lol...
Did he bury the guy alive?
Did Chin really try to poach him?

I didn't torture the kid, didn't do nuttin like that. Shot him a couple times and he died.
Re: Mikey Salerno
He confessed to burying the guy alive to a prosecutor during his early debriefing sessions so I'd say that one's true. I don't know about planes filled with drugs, but that buried alive killing was related to a drug smuggling operation and him and Amuso were both arrested for smuggling heroin from Thailand so he at least had considerable involvement in the drug business. Where did he say he tried to wage a war with the cartels??
Re: Mikey Salerno
Believe the cartel thing was from the book iirc.MightyDR wrote:He confessed to burying the guy alive to a prosecutor during his early debriefing sessions so I'd say that one's true. And I mixed up MF with Gas on the poaching thing.

The Chin allegedly asked Gas to join his crew after Gas killed the neighborhood heroin creep.

Chin was a Captain in the late 60s? Casso’s pop did work for the Genovese family I think, he also had a relative who was a captain & ruled the ports if I’m not mistaking. The buried alive thing was from a drug running operation they had running drugs into, or from, Florida. Pot and coke (since coke was starting to become more popular at the time) - but mostly pot I think. There's info out there that Amuso was involved with some heroin smuggling direct from Thailand but I am not sure how true that is.MightyDR wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 12:26 amHe confessed to burying the guy alive to a prosecutor during his early debriefing sessions so I'd say that one's true. The guy Casso buried alive was the son of one of the captains of a drug running boat, who had gotten busted. Casso flew down to Florida to talk to the kid and feel him out about his father, and ended up shooting him and burying him alive. He supposedly did this with somebody else but it's never been put out there who the other person was.
I believe that Casso was courted by all five families, including the Genovese, at one point. Wouldn't be a stretch to say he had good inroads into the Genovese and could have ended up with them. He grew up in a hotbed of activity in Brooklyn, worked at the docs, and was really in the mix when he was a kid doing all sorts of money stuff.
I wonder if Salerno and Facciola were really rats? Casso was getting legit info from those cops at the end of the day. Plus before he killed Salerno he had already had a sitdown with him over the Dump and it was resolved to where Salerno started paying more of it's proceeds to the admin. Casso was on the run at that time and was facing serious charges, so if it was a money/power play, it wouldn't make much sense - it wasn't out there personally to make sure whoever took over Salerno's massive loan book was doing right by him, and he was on borrowed time anyway. It's probably bullshit and had to do with greed, but there is still a chance those guys were cooperating...
Re: Mikey Salerno
It seems like vic n gas wanted it all for there selfs they wanted the lucrative rackets they killed alot of huge earners and just swallowed what there capos and soldiers had was luongo an earner who was in his crew? Salerno was an earner so was dilapi and pappidio also.
Re: Mikey Salerno
Remember reading the mafia cop lou eppilto asked bruno to stop shaking down a friend of his and Bruno didnt stop so lou told casso he was a informant and that took him out of the picture. Think it would have came out in louie dadone trial if bruno was infact a informant. I think they even came out and said he wasnt

Vic and Gas were both arrested as part of a heroin smuggling ring in 1977. Not sure what happened with the case though.newera_212 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 1:55 pmThe buried alive thing was from a drug running operation they had running drugs into, or from, Florida. In the Al D'Arco book, a prosecutor who debriefed Casso said that Casso told him Salerno was killed because they thought Salerno was envious of them. So the rat story must have just been the excuse they gave to D'Arco.
