I just found out that i have one Sebastian Licata/Licato connected to the North Side mob and also to Fred Roti. Any relations?
I know next to nothing about this Nick Licata or what became of him. Just a rough birthdate of 1896 or so.
Maybe Polack, B or Anti can add something to it, meaning if there was any relation. Its a "coincidence" that Sebastian was connected to the Northsiders...
I have Nick and Sebastian Licata's father as a Rosario Licata. Per his Federal Naturalization Record, Rosario was born 1867 in Sambuca. He seems to have first arrived in the US via NOLA in 1889, and there married Antonina Fiorenza in 1891 (I believe also from Sambuca). I'm not positive exactly when they relocated to Chicago, but by 1920 at the latest the family lived near 24th and Princeton in Chinatown (hence I'm sure the marriage of a niece to Fred Roti). Rosario Licata died in Chicago in 1943, Antonina in 1958.
In light of Villain's recollection that the Licata brothers may have had some ties to the Northside (despite their Near Southside family address), when Nick Licata died in 1940 his address was given near Lasalle and Goethe on the Near Northside.

I wondered what Licata's connection to the Pumilia family was in Rockford and it's a little more clear knowing that Licata was from Sambuca as that's where that Pumilia family was from. I'm betting that the Fiorenza mother was also. Nice info and much appreciation to everyone who helped out!
Sambuca is also where Mike Merlo is from. Interesting if they moved there around that time. Some of the important Riberesi guys like Phil Bacino and the Lolordos came to Chicago around the period Mike Merlo became boss and Sambuca isn't far from Ribera.
So Rockford has Sambuca ties, too, and they also have ties to Aragona.
I wonder if any of these people from Sambuca can be connected to Merlo.

Villian - This is the obituary of Buster Licata, Nick’s brother. Seems there’s a family connection to the Roti family.
Yup, thats where i also received my info from. As Polack said, later they lived on the near south side which simply adds to the Roti connection
