Sheeran's isn't the only account that has this story. Pretty much everyone that's written about Hoffa attested to this. Not sure if it's any informant's files to corroborate or not but the claim is not Sheeran's solely, that's for sure. Tony Pro was the actual president of that local in Jersey. He did tv interviews. He wanted people to think he was legit. It's not hard to believe he'd shun one of the very antiquated rules of the mob for the sake of business.
