Re: Paul "The Indian" Schiro asking for compassionate release
Schiro was a suspect in the Bombacino and Vaci (for which he was convicted) hits and several others....and he was also once in charge of an operation about stealing systematic diversion of gold and other precious metals from Motorola plants in the Phoenix area, and also controlled a crew that was involved in gambling, burglary, fencing of stolen goods, and drug trafficking.

Re: Paul "The Indian" Schiro asking for compassionate release
Schiro was doing time for the Hanhardt burglary crew indictment from 2000 when he was indicted for the family secrets in 2005. That is why he has been in for 20 years. Frank Culotta once said that along with Larry Neumann, Schiro was the only guy he feared. He was a straight hitter.

He didn’t have a tough guy reputation really like spilotro or Lombardo or calabrese. He did surveillance on the vaci hit while the others did the heavy lifting.Villain wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 12:24 pm Schiro was a suspect in the Bombacino and Vaci (for which he was convicted) hits and several others....and he was also once in charge of an operation about stealing systematic diversion of gold and other precious metals from Motorola plants in the Phoenix area, and also controlled a crew that was involved in gambling, burglary, fencing of stolen goods, and drug trafficking.

Thanks for the correction. After the so-called Joe Tocco crowd, he was the main rep for the Outfit in AZ right?Pete wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 12:20 amHe didn’t have a tough guy reputation really like spilotro or Lombardo or calabrese. Re: Paul "The Indian" Schiro asking for compassionate release
I’ve said this many times in other posts but marcello was originally ordered to serve time in Atwater California. He made a big beef and got moved back to Chicago for his appeal and the judge was very critical of the prosecutors for moving him to California. When his appeals were over they sent him to adx to shove it up his ass. Lombardo as well sued to go to get out of lockdown at Butner. They responded by sending him to adx. Lesson here is don’t mess with the bop about your placement I guess.Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 11:22 pmWhy is Marcello in ADMAX? Just look at how they have Marcello locked up in ADMAX like he's a freakin terrorist.

Speaking about the AZ crowd...by the early 80s Joe Tocco became an informant since in exchange for reduced sentence for crimes that could have cost him 60 years, Tocco provided the government with some useful information about the Bombacino murder and implicated Tony Amadio who at the time was serving a term for burglary in California. I also wonder if he also gave some other information besides the Bombacino hit?

Re: Paul "The Indian" Schiro asking for compassionate release
Yup and he was implicated by Roy Romano who stepped onto the public stage in the fall of 1983, when, in return for immunity from prosecution, he turned state's evidence against Phoenix alleged crew boss Joseph Tocco and gave detailed testimony about his own criminal activities as a member of the Tocco crew. Chicago Heights member Armand D'Andrea used to be a big player over there too but i think he died during the mid or late 70s. From the mid 1960s the Heights group also had their own crew down there and i believe that it was headed either by Joe or Armand, which i personally think it was the latter one but thats pure speculation for now since im waiting on some info...IF i receive itPete wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 12:38 amJoe went bad? Re: Paul "The Indian" Schiro asking for compassionate release
Thanks for posting this explanation because this is something that has puzzled me for a few years now. Could never understand why a guy like Amuso - convicted of way more murders, known to maintain some level of influence over his crime family on the street - is cooling his heels in an FCI while Lombardo and Marcello were locked down in Supermax alongside the worst of the worst.Pete wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 12:27 amI’ve said this many times in other posts but marcello was originally ordered to serve time in Atwater California. Re: Paul "The Indian" Schiro asking for compassionate release
I’d be interested to see if they release schiro. The article talks about how Anthony calabrese and Lombardo were denied but both were serving life sentences. If there was an oc guy with a moderate chance I’d say schiro would be it

Re: Paul "The Indian" Schiro asking for compassionate release
Schiro was not really the Outfit’s guy in Arizona. He was Spilotro’s guy in Arizona. He did a lot of hits and burglaries for Spilotro and it made him a very feared man. Him and Hansen killed those four guys in Park Ridge on behalf of Spilotro. The thing about it is, after Spilotro was killed, Schiro withdrew from the Outfit. He was loyal to Spilotro, his childhood friend, not the Outfit. He actually went into hiding for all of 1987. Nobody knew where he was. He told Schweihs and Hansen he was done with the Outfit before that. He was definitely doing burglaries and heist throughout the 90s and eventually got caught with Hanhardt. That was an Outfit run operation with a percentage going to the top but Schiro was more of an independent. I hope he gets out. One of the last of the guys from the Spilotro crew that is still around. He beat the murder case but the judge stuck it to him anyway.
The same could be said about Joey Hansen. After, Spilotro was killed he withdrew from the Outfit. Blitzstein too. Spilotro had a tough crew. One wonders where the Outfit would be if he didn’t get killed and was able to beat the indictments. He had a lot of loyal workers for him. He definitely would have been boss.

I agree with everything you said good post but I disagree he wasn’t the outfits guy in az. If he wasn’t who was? I’m not saying he was big shot but they went to him when they needed help with something there. Joey Hansen has Much more standing cuz he did so much work but at that point they didn’t have many guys in azPatrickgold wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 6:04 pm Schiro was not really the Outfit’s guy in Arizona.
