It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

How often was the ruse of being made used to murder an associate?
I noticed very few guys were made in 1979 and early to mid January was listed as the disappearance of Tommy DeSimone, of course, that doesn't mean he wasn't killed late December 1978.

There was Bonanno Associate Louis Tuzzio who got whacked in 1990. I think he kind of knew it since he told someone (I believe his mother) that he was either going to be made or killed before he went off to the meeting. There was also the Spilotro brothers in Chicago. They were lured to their death with the story that Michael was goining to get made. I think they knew it as well since. Didn't they leave all their jewlry behind befre going off to that meeting? Plus Tommy DeSimone which you mentioned.

According to the list that Pogo posted, it could have been Alphonse "Alley Boy" Persico sent to NE, made, then sent back to NY while the books were closed.
Other guys would know the date, but I've read that Tony Spilotro was made in and around 1963 into the outfit.
