Chuckie O’Brien died

I love his alibi, that he was delivering a large frozen fish to a Teamster official.

It's Giacalone's nephew's car. Frankly, I don't except the FBI stooge Capeci as the godfather of mafia journalism and sure don't respect Moldea. Anyone that believes truck was at the ready to bring a body across the country for burial is not legitimate. There is a Tony Pro wiretap I once heard played where, I paraphrase, "Sally starting to believe those stories about himself." I find everything wrong about Moldea as he is reprtinting the FBI's original theory. Hoffa was killed by Detroit and never left Detroit. I sometimes doubt if any of N.J. suspects was in Detroit that day. There would be no need. All you need is Billy Jack to put him at ease; Sheeran would be of help putting him at ease. Once there, as we're slowly learning, it was Detroit hitters that iced him and either incinerated or through a sausage auger. Again, no need to fly someone across the country when the Detroit Arm sits on the Commission and is as large as 3 of the N.Y. families as well as the Chicago Outfit. Hoffa Would Not be at Ease seeing any of Pro's Hitters.
Re: Chuckie O’Brien died
Great post outfit guy. Moldea has no credibility with anyone serious in the government or outsideand is a self promoter to boot. Him and Gus Russo are the kings of self promotion with their own curious connections. Anyone who believes that NJ and Detroit got together to make such a high profile hit using a Philly drunk Frank Sheeran and Chuckie O'Brien is either promoting themselves or doesn't know shit about LCN. O'Brien's stepson's book does a great job breaking down the story surrounding O'Brien. Shows the relationship Hoffa had with the guys from Detroit. Why do you think we don't know what happened? Because that hit stayed in house.
Re: Chuckie O’Brien died
Exactly. I do think bosses from other cities may have ok'd it, or even known about it before hand. Taking a murdered body across the country is not believable.outfit guy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 7:25 am It's Giacalone's nephew's car. Wait, Moldea has been stating that Sheeran was *not* involved with the hit, hasn't he? I follow him on social media and he seemed to be adamant about Sheeran being a liar and making up everything about his connections to the Hoffa hit.dack2001 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 12:42 pm Great post outfit guy. Glick told author Nicholas Pileggi that he expected to meet a banker-type individual, but instead, he found Alvin Baron to be a gruff, tough-talking cigar-chomping Teamster who greeted him with, “What the fuck do you want?”
Re: Chuckie O’Brien died
Moldea has been saying that Sheeran is a liar about being the shooter but has said he could have been there to lure or ride with Chuckie O'Brien. Moldea is not worth the time frankly, he resents the Irishman stealing his media and anyone else stepping on his toes as the resident Fox News Hoffa expert. He continues to push the story about the dump in Jersey being the final resting place of Hoffa.

I like a lot of Moldea's writing and appreciate his efforts on the topic but yeah he was really annoying with his anti-Irishman campaign. All movies deviate from the facts. lol. There's nothing more annoying than when people nit pick at movies like that.

Re: Chuckie O’Brien died
I have am beyond skeptical of "experts" in a modern world where everything is a "study". So, I do believe one needs to step back in this world of elites (any government employee making $100K +). The Hoffa family is adamant that Sheeran had to have at least been there. Upon release of Sheeran's book, they proclaimed they were insistent regarding his culpability, to government investigators. When it's said and done, Hoffa's family would know who he trusts. I believe Sheeran fabricated an awful lot but darn, I do believe he is sincere about his relationship with Bufalino and the photos alone validate. If he's that close to a boss, I don't hesitate to believe several of the homicides he claims. With that, Sheeran very well may have been there to lure him. Believe he there before believing the entire Jersey crew drove out and drove back. Joke!

In Goodfellas most of the scenes where Henry is hanging out with Tommy, like the double date where he meets Karen, one of Vario's sons was the one who was actually with him. Henry only went with Tommy DeSimone on scores. He hated hanging out with him. Was afraid of him. So Pesci's "Tommy" is basically a combination of DeSimone and one of the Vario kids that Henry was close with.

There's a ton of combo characters in Scorsese films.Grouchy Sinatra wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 8:10 pm In Goodfellas most of the scenes where Henry is hanging out with Tommy, like the double date where he meets Karen, one of Vario's sons was the one who was actually with him. Remo in Casino is Aiuppu, Balistrieri, and Buccieri. Carbone in Goodfellas is Angelo Sepe, Paolo LiCastri, and Richard Eaton. John Nance in Casino is Jay Vandermark and Bobby Stella. Etc etc.
Interestingly I didn't notice any such characters in The Irishman, unless having Sheeran do every hit counts as hit. Another thing I noticed is that the only characters whose names were changed (presumably to avoid pesky lawsuits) were the Andretta brothers, probably because Tommy Andretta was still living during the production. (He did die about a year ago though.)
My problem is I hate everybody.

I think Remo was sort of based on Accardo too, as Accardo was adamant about "keeping things quiet". Accardo wanted that skim to be low key. I don't know. It's just that when he has that conversation with Andy Stone (Dorfman), I think Accardo. Even though technically these guys were meeting directly with Auippa.

Not to mention Nicky referring to Remo as "The outfit's top boss", which Accardo was at that time, not Auippa.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.
