If this is indicative of the “quality” guys they’re bringing into the DeCavalcante’s nowadays, that whole crew is in deep deep trouble! .... they look like street urchins. One guy’s 27 and half bald already, the other at 37 is all grey.... slovenly. Who are these people? .... selling little $50-100. street bags of coke like common street dealers. What 20 year olds would do. What a fucking bad joke this is. And I agree, these two are gonna end up with much heavier bids this time around. I’d be surprised if they didn’t.

A man who federal authorities allege is an associate of the DeCavalcante crime family pleaded guilty Monday in Trenton federal court to drug distribution and gun charges — less than two years after he was released from prison for helping sell more than 500 grams of cocaine for the organized crime family, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.


Mario Galli III, 28, pleaded guilty to charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon during a drug trafficking crime. At the time Galli was charged, he was on federal supervised release from a previous conviction.

The charge of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. In addition, the gun charge carries a penalty of five years in prison and must be served consecutively to the sentence imposed for the drug crime.

The Toms River man is scheduled to be sentenced July 7.

According to the charging documents, in September 2019, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office executed search warrants at Galli’s residence and the home of a conspirator.

Authorities said during the searches they recovered around 500 grams of cocaine, and a loaded 9mm firearm in Galli’s home.


They seized also seized nearly $2,300 in cash, authorities said. The U.S. Attorney’s Office took over the case in December, according to court documents. Jason Vella, of Berkeley Township, is also facing federal charges for allegedly distributing cocaine.

Galli’s attorney, James Butler, declined to comment on the guilty plea.

When Galli was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison in 2016 for his earlier drug conviction, Butler said his client was “for lack of a better word... a punk... He has come a long way.”

Authorities said Galli, who was 23 at the time, accompanied alleged DeCalvacante family associates during several cocaine sales to an undercover informant in 2014 and 2015.

Galli apologized to the court at the time, and told the judge, “I didn’t think things through. Now I think things through.”

He was released from custody in June 2018. As part of his release, he was forbidden to associate with members of gangs or organized crime.

He gets his juice from his father by way of his fathers friends who are all elderly living in retirement communities in Toms River. The made guy from Elizabeth that had a beef with will hold more sway in a few yrs and the younger Stango will have zero juice. The kid was a brokester living in a little shit box in Brick with his girlfriend and kid(who has since dumped him and moved on). Whatever money he made from dealing coke he used to buy a Cadillac and trick it out wigger style..not to move his young family up to a middle class neighborhood.etc. My buddy from Brick is very close to the family of the girl that Stango had a kid with. The kid in this article is also in the same boat. Neither have a chance of getting made into that family. The DeCavalcante Family is at crossroads right now. The older members are dying off or close to it. The younger members currently made are not affiliated with the older Stango or the younger Stango. To be honest the younger really didn't have a relationship with his dad hearly his entire life besides thru a glass window. Their relationship outside of prison has been very short. the Stango crew seemed like they were at dire straits. the hair brained hookers-in-a-warehouse scheme had about a 1 in a Million chance of actually materializing. I can only imagine the elder Stango sustaining himself solely on SSI checks and whatever random money his son was sending him from petty drug sales, living in one of the most broken down places in the entire country

if there is any future with the DeCavalcante family, I feel like its going to be more through the generational blood-tie guys and immigrants, versus scumbag kids from the Shore
. the Stango ‘crew’ getting busted was probably the best thing that could have happened to them, weeding out the losers for a while

Nah the hookers thing would have lasted with the right payoffs and management, Law Enforcement here at the Jersey Shore has prostitution at the very end of their priority list along with bookmaking. Law enforcement's number one priority here are opiods and heroin. There are whorehouses around here that have been around for well over ten years.
