DiGilio was a Bonanno associate on record with Joe Zicarelli in Bayonne who transferred to the Genovese family where he later became a member.

Thanks for the clarification B. . I had no idea Digilio was an associate with the Bonannos and then switched over , Then again I didn't know too much about Digilio other than probably his being with the Westside and his killing

I've never been able to find much info about mob connections with Local 1964.

Around that time there was tension between the Genovese and Gambinos regarding the Jersey waterfront. Traditionally Genovese territory and the Gambinos were trying to get their foot in. Supposedly it was one reason for Bobby Manna plotting to take out John and Gene Gotti.

But I don't know if any if this was connected to Local 1964.

I believe a Gambino guy in Longshoremen Local 1588 in Bayonne replaced a Genovese guy who was convicted at Digilio's trial.

Local 1964 is a union whos members work in warehouses, factories and garages. Allot are centered adjacent to Ports for storage for Trucking to ship it all out , refrigerated Warehouses etc. Its an odd union since the Teamster Unions back then typically muscled in on Trucking and warehouse facilities.
