The first article you posted was from 1988 - when China White was big. A lot of predictions were made at the time, just like with blacks in the 1960s or Russians in the 1990s, but they never came true. That's the point.

The second article has to do with Asians in California and, as such, is largely immaterial when it comes to the LCN.

Bert. the asterisk connotes a figure considered to be a boss or leader in whatever mob rackets they were active in at the time. Doesn’t mean they were the ultimate leaders or that others on my list were not leaders, only that the asterisked individuals were of a higher significance..... and Bert, to be fair about it, the Jews definitely DID NOT have a structure like the Italians. At all!!! They had bosses in different endeavors, but these groups were “fractured” so to speak. The Yakuza is bigger according to most books I have read, but maybe they are exaggerating. The Mafia gets knocked out of the box relatively quick then they get big in anything. The Yakuza is said to have members on corporate boards and in politics. In Mexico, they could not keep El Chapo locked up, I wonder how long we can keep him here.

Why do some names on your list have an asterisk next to their name? I asked earlier, you missed it in the arguing.

I explained that. I placed an asterisk next to names considered to be in a leadership position. There are others on the list in a mid management level, but imo names so marked were def “boss” level or close to it.
