Carmine Persico...fucker is going to live until he's 150yrs old just to make us keep reading about him. Basciano sat in the big seat for about 11min- I'm getting tired of him as well.....not sure what it says about me that I wanted to read Capeci's thoughts on Zottola but still....

Actually I couldn't care less about the law. The law has long since been corrupted and perverted into beaing pretty meaningless. I'm about what is right and what is wrong and allowing career criminal (life long parasties) like Persico and Basciano to go free is wrong.

Sure. But having, ‘somebody’, ‘decide’, what is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, instead of the universal protection of the rule of law, is called a dictatorship.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 7:27 pm Actually I couldn't care less about the law. Nobody’s denying these two are pieces of shit. But the rule of law applies to all, or none.

He didn't write a word in the articleFrank wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 10:19 amI think it was a great Gang Land this week. Capeci explained the facts of the cases real well. You can say poor babies or that they belong there in prison, but this kind of shit happens to non Mafia members too. This win at all cost attitude of prosecutors and judges that turn their backs to it and the refusal of appellate judges to even aknowledge wrong doing in a case is just wrong no matter who it is on trial. I've read about to many wrongly convicted people where the prosecutor is holding back evidence that would lead to aquital, and these are regular people like us. Even when you go to traffic court you have to all rise for these judges that are held in high regard in our system and society.Ozgoz wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 9:39 amLol you’re right. And I usually take this stance a la Joey Lombardo and how he’s been begging for clemency (fuck him) but I have to say Persico does seem to have been royaly fucked in that case.
But then it depends on your philosophy - we all know ultimately he deserves to be there.
Vinny Gorgeous lol what does anyone (including the author) expect? You put a civil servant in your crosshairs they’re going to skin you alive. Nothing to do with flipping him.
I get it....first rule of fight club.

I'm not arguing that the government doesn't do things wrong. Though we need to consider the source here.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 7:17 pmI love it how you two are all about and the rule of law, until it suits you.Wiseguy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 2:41 pmAmen to that.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 11:16 am Guy's like Persico and Basciano waking the streets again would be the true injustice.

And that's my main point. Here's a guy who's chosen profession is defending scumbags he knows are guilty. And despite being in one of the most amoral jobs in the world, he wants to get on his soapbox and grandstand? About guys like Persico and Basciano? What a load of horse manure.
And don't give me that crap about him being a necessary part of our legal system. That won't save him when he meets his Maker.

Yeah but the rule of law is meaningless in present day Amurrica. Nor does it apply to all (but that is another discussion). The sole purpose of the law today is to keep our rulers in power and to generate large amounts of money for lawyers (fellow parasites). It is the very corruption of the law and all sense of real Justice in this totally corrupt and morally crippled society that has allowed people like Persico and Basciano to operate and for criminally subversive groups like LCN to exist and prey on society. If we lived in a country were the law mattered and we had true justice people like Persico and Basciano would have had their fair trials and hanged decades ago.

That is rich coming from the guy who thinks mass murderers like Carmine Persico, Vinny Basciano and Joey Merlino are persecuted victims who should be walking the streets.

Other than in the very rare case, I assume no one is worked up about their murder "victims" either.
Re: Gangland News - 10/18/18
I've never posted anything of the sort except to urge fundamental fairness in the legal system for everyone including the above but does it matter? I'll demure from here on out because an argument serves no purpose but to give your viewpoint some semblance of legitimacy.

Re: Gangland News - 10/18/18
Please that was exactly what your post was saying.
Poor Persico and Basciano losing their liberty from an unjust system that treated them unfairly and unjustly convicted them. It's an injustice.
So since they were so unjustly treated and convicted they must therefore be set free. And since they unjustly lost their liberty they must therefore be compensated by the system. Say a few million each of tax payer money? That would be a real kicker.

Injustice for one is injustice for all. Your heart should bleed for anyone who loses their liberty from an unjust system. Good for DiPietro for fighting the good fight and kudos for everyone else who has ever fought for someone unjustly treated or convicted in the criminal justice system,
