Re: Some Old Timers
B. the picture about looks like it could have been taken in the 30's so my opinion it is sr. great photo by the way, B was that your picture with the old-timers great photo never sen before
Re: Some Old Timers
observation, maybe the research guys can put this together, looks like a wedding photo, all men, so it very well could be the same decina, so what decina was torregrossa in? doc number 657 above maybe in order of crews, i have no clue on how to get those or how they are delineated
Re: Some Old Timers
Awesome bronx, so the guy to the far left is Andrew Terregrossa sr not JR thanks. And who is Joe Brewster? Real name? Rocco or Charlie, any idea who the two in the middle are? Can anyone post another picture of Anthony rizzo? So we can see if one of them in the middle is him. We got two out of 4. I know we can figure it out the next two guys in the middle. B awesome photo thanks for sharing.......Soliai
Re: Some Old Timers
Oh yeah, it's definitely Torregrossa Sr. in the photo I posted it. It would have to be Sr. in the photo Soliai posted as well given their ages.
The Torregrossas were from Agrigento, so Andrea Sr. may have started out with one of the two early crews that were made up of guys from that region.

Re: Some Old Timers
Soliai, browsers last names was dedomenico, he changed it to delmonico, his son stayed at original last name along with going on record with colombo's..father and son had a huge falling out
Re: Some Old Timers
brewsters, spell check gets me all the time
Re: Some Old Timers
Since these appear to be Brooklyn guys -- hair, nose, mouth, and chin/facial shape match Jimmy DiLeonardo pretty close.
Re: Some Old Timers
oh yeah, wow great work B. where did you get that photo? did you have the first one? now that is a research man.. so they would have had to be in the same decina, immigration photo?
Re: Some Old Timers
JD found it on the passport photo archive. There's a thread about it in the photo section.
I'd never seen the photo Soliai posted until he put it up. Maybe he'll fill us in.
Re: Some Old Timers
JD hats off, i never would have made the picture, any more pictures of that crew, we can now find who the fourth guy is..jimmy was the captain of that crew going back to daquila..torregrossa was in that crew,
Re: Some Old Timers
B., it's not him, the old man with the glasses initials are V.D, not J.D., Does Jimmy have a brother or uncle who's name might start with a V that was also with the Gambinos? Cause the resemblance you mentioned is very similar. B., do you also know where we can find a photo of A. Rizzo?......Soliai
Re: Some Old Timers
Solai, his name was Vincenzo "Jimmy" DiLeonardo. Italians named Vincenzo often Americanized their names to James more often than Vincent. On top of my head, one famous example was James Demory AKA Jack McGurn (born Vincenzo Gibaldi).
Re: Some Old Timers
Yep, most Vincenzos went by "Jimmy" in the USA, including DiLeonardo as Antiliar said.
No idea on Rizzo. He would have probably been in his 70s by the time of this photo.
