Does anyone know if Gravano got paid for Underboss?

Would put to rest the question of whether these guys keep the money or forfeit under proceeds of crime laws..

My theory is as long as the FBI still have plans for Massino, that is if they have plans for future additional testimonies from him, there will be no book. What he´ll say in a book, could be conflicting with what he´ll have to say in court.
There you have it, never printed before.

Does Massino still doesn't have any contact with his (ex) wife Josephine and his daughters?

On the Trevor McDonald doc, Scars talks about when he was locked up, the family told his wife to go on welfare as a reason he flipped. Does that not seem far-fetched? First off, that line is straight out of Goodfellas. Second, if you have a capo facing life, don't you keep him happy until after trial at absolutel minimum? Why would you screw a guy who could burn down so many? That just never added up to me. I could see a rumor of him flipping and then they told his wife to go on welfare. I get that. His explanation of when and why he flipped seems totally illogical.

I don't know if what they told his wife was true or not but the act of not taking care of a guys family once he goes to prison is pretty much the norm. Out of sight out of mind is the attitude these guys have. Unless a guy is Boss or really high up or has some relatives on the street looking after his interests he usually on his own. Even having relatives on the street doesn't gaurentee that you will be taken care of. Just look how Junior Gotti had all his rackets taken away from him by his uncles when he went to prison. These guys are greedy to the core and are always screwing and backstabbing each other.

In that article they did together, DiLeonardo says that a Sicilian mafia member can be made in the US if he gets a "release". I wonder if he knows of any examples of that happening, especially with how closely involved he was with the 18th avenue zips for a time.

Gravano was paid $400,000 for Underboss. However Ron Kuby represented some of his 19 murder victims and was able to get the money frozen before Gravano got it and won a wrongful death suit for the victims families. I believe each family got around $35,000

That is a fantasy taking care of guys when they go to prison.

Unless it is a boss, I dont think hardly anyone is getting that treatment.

Instead, they are too busy fighting over who is going to steal the rackets of the jailed mobster.

Look at Vinny Basciano - I could not believe a Boss had to write his own appeals for 2 murder convictions because he could not afford a lawyer!

Could have been bored, what else did he have to do in solitary lol

Or wanted to leave the money to his family. He was a big family man.

But supposedly he liked the high life, gambling and spending money so he could have spent it as fast as he made it
