Now granted I just go by what I read here for anything related to the Colombos, but it seemed like even though they were hit with a bunch of indictments and had a bunch of guys roll...it really didn't amount to a whole lot, no one really got a lot of time outside Gioeli and Saracino.

A lot of people like to say that. The truth is that they are still very active and still have plenty of players around. That doesn't mean they are close to being what they once were. They aren't. Put it like this, if they happened to be the only family in NY then you could be pretty sure they'd be the most powerful family in the country. They just have too many things going for them.

The DeCavalcantes had 40 made men, the Colombos almost 100. More or less the same size of Di lauros and secessionist and the last win the war. But the DeCavalcantes had no men in ny and the colombos dont have a crew in NJ. So why must fight knowing that the feds will fuck both of them with the arrests and the flipping ?

Speaking of Colombo the First Scampia feud was like the 3 colombo war. In Naples Paolo di Lauro wanted his son Cosimo as heir and when Cosimo replaced more capizonas with his men the old guys in particulary Raffaele Amato were very angry also because he was accused of stealing a large sum of money of the clan. The war lasted from November 2004 until about March 2005 but the last murder linked to the feud happens in 2007 when Lucio de Lucia the father of Ugo accused of the murder of gelsomina verde, was killed.
In a courtroom, Paolo Di Lauro kissed Vincenzo Pariante, boss of the "splitters"; the investigators interpreted the gesture as an external signal that the war was over.
Drug trafficking, however, has never stopped between the sails of Scampia and Secondigliano squares because it is a deal worth millions of Euros higher than the reasons that moved the feud.

Jeremy I don't know if you watched the Gomorrah first season that is based on true facts Di Lauro forced gennaro marino aka mckay a disobedient killer to drink his urine like savastano in the series; the girl killed is refered to Gelsomina Verde, Salvatore Conte is based on Raffaele Amato and so on.

At the end of the feud the dilauros take the city and the scissionistis the province.

Can't recall how long it was. But the leaders were the Di Lauro's and the Secessionists were various Camorra clans and bosses whom were once under the Di Lauro banner but wanted to change that, the Secondigliano clans . I can't mention them all by name right now, I don't have Gomorra in front of me right now.

They were once the same, that's why they were called the "Scissionisti di Secondigliano", or "The Secessionists Of Secondigliano", they broke off from the Di Lauros and tried to assert control over Secondigliano, Scampia and other parts of Naples. During the war they were mostly known as the Spaniards because the bosses, like Raffele Amato, I believe, based themselves in Spain during the war. All of this according to the Gomorra book , of course.

The Spaniards (Secessionists) had a lot of clans allied with them, which is why it was such a shock that the Di Lauros managed to maintain how they did throughout that whole ordeal .
The Di Lauros retained control over the Secondigliano area, while the Secessionists controlled Scampia, Casavatore, Piscinola, Marianella, Giugliano , Melito, Chiaino (sp?) and other areas I think.

Secondigliano and Scampia was and still are the most profitable selling zones; for this reason was called the secessionists of Secondigliano and the feud was called the scampia feud.
