Why would there be hundreds of thousands of dollars within a social club? That could be easily seized by the FBI.

It was also valuable/jewelry not just cash only. Combined they are estimated to be in the 6 figure range.

I am reminded of the 2011 mafia takedown indictment where the Colombo family had just recently shut down a competing game in the Bronx. Colombo acting captain Anthony Russo was concerned about retaliation and told his guys in the club to “load up” and if their rivals came into the club to “shoot the shit out of them”.

So I wonder if some of the mob clubs will now be on high alert with a number of guys carrying and ready to blast away at any future attempts.

The social clubs in Chicago well some of them have cameras that surveillance what is happening outside. Also you need a key fob to enter.

The Bonnanos should all have key fobs for now on.

Jewelry makes sense. Probably doesn't take that many wiseguys in a room together to get to $100k worth of Rolex's.

Its not the $$$ that is the issue. Its the act of going in there with guns drawn and putting the lives at risk of the men who were inside the place. These are not just associates, these were bosses. They are very lucky they didn't pull the trigger if this really happened.

This certainly wouldn’t be the first time a social club got robbed but the odd part to me is how much money they had on hand. Leads one to believe someone knew it would be there and when.

Sticking up Ernie and Johnny Joe shows some real gumption. Maybe this is Joe C and those bikers kicking Mikey in the balls.

I get that it's about more than money but lets face it, the mob isn't what it used to be, there's rats with YouTube channels and nothing happens to them which I'm sure makes some people think these mob guys are easy pickings these days.
