Yes. Great stuff! Appreciate the work you put into this.

Great rundown, Chin. Very informative. From the looks of it, it appears that none of the important names were changed. With the mention of Eli Zeccardi it's too bad nobody says anything about his demise. I do appreciate the insight into what may have happened to Eboli.

Thanks for that write up Chin. Much appreciated. These interactions really highlight the petty politicking these guys do on the daily. All these guys being blocked being made and having to do it on the sly etc. Treachery in all directions.

One thing I'm quite curious about is when exactly the Greenwich Village decina was split into ten. Fish Cafaro said there were 14 crews in the entire family in the mid-1980s, so it would seem unlikely for it to be prior to then. Plus, some members who had been mentioned as captains in their own right were later identified as still being soldiers in the decina (e.g., Joe Pagano sometimes being listed as a captain only to later be indicted as a soldier under Canterino).
By the 1990s/2000s though there are several former members or associates of the decina who were fairly reliably identified as captains:
- John Barbato
- Dominick Cirillo
- Lawrence Dentico
- Mario Gigante
- Federico Giovanelli
- Frank Illiano
- Daniel Leo
- Daniel Pagano
- Angelo Prisco
Maybe it got split up in the late 80s/early 90s.

This is interesting.Cafaro also told D’Urso about Peter Tarangelo, an accountant who managed tens of millions of dollars for Bellomo in the Bahamas
Also, could Barone be any more of a moron?

Yeah, all signs suggests Eboli s crew was split up late 1980s/early 1990. In the 1960s, Eboli s crew was still intact. Interesting that Aparo would say that the crew had 100 made members when it got split. Sounds to me that the number is inaccurate. A huge number yes, but not 100.chin_gigante wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 4:47 pm One thing I'm quite curious about is when exactly the Greenwich Village decina was split into ten. This is not likely. The Aparos where living on Mott Street (Little Italy) and the Gigantes on Thompson Street (Greenwich Village) as US census show. It is not that far a distance but "across the street" it is not.Aparo grew up across the street from Gigante and had previously been on good terms with him
The Louis Casalini mentioned, is deceased. He grew up originally on Lower East Side, between the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridge which was the stomping ground of that particular Genovese crew D Urso was linked to.
Thank you Chin for the run down. Very interesting to read. The book is not awailable to purchase over here.
There you have it, never printed before.

Yes, that’s the way I read it, and it took a few times through. There’s a few points where it gets clunky and quite a few typos.chin_gigante wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 7:50 amI've re-read that passage a few times and the wording is a little confusing but I don't think that's what Campi is claiming.Louis_Brasi wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 6:24 am - campi alleges Sonny Franzese was involved in the DeCicco hit. He said that he had information that Barney, while in prison, told Sonny that Chin loved Sonny for helping on that hit.

To me this reads as Bellomo told Franzese in prison that he (Bellomo) had been involved in the DeCicco murder. Gigante loved Bellomo because of this and made him acting boss after the murder. Franzese then told this story to other Colombo members.
He goes on to basically encourage the current FBI agents to take a new look at the DeCicco murder and Bellomo’s possible role. (Though I’m sure they already have)
Another interesting takeaway was just how much money Bellomo had in off-shore accounts. Combine that with his legit income today, and that guy is at generational wealth level. Similar to how the Chin ended up.

Fully agree. Chin's cliff notes kick ass. Time is hard to come by with kids coupled with the books not all being available easily where I am these notes are fantastic. Chin you have an excellent skill at pick out relevant points and distilling them into bite sized chunks of information.Pmac2 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 4:14 am ty chin. you give such great cliff notes. probaly tge reason I think the last book I read was little Al's book 10yrs ago or the leonetti book.
