Looks like N.J. volume is getting close to Nevada
I will say me and several of my friends stop using our bookie for the most part with the new Fan Duel app.
Seems in the article Meadowlands did about $70M in volume which is pretty crazy .
Wiseguy evolve though and their loansharking operations in N.J. must be booming as at least 1 guy have set up shop there and I’ve never been asked more about loan options than in the last month by my friends . Pretty nuts how quickly this is all happening but hat off to NJ for getting it mostly right so far IMO

Re: Supreme Court Ruling on Sports Betting
That’s the only way mobsters can recuperate some of their loses from legalized betting. The loan sharks have to take advantage of all the extra gamblers.
The way you talk, you just confuse him.
Re: Supreme Court Ruling on Sports Betting
You have to bet cash there so if you love a play at 10pm but all your cash is pending / deposited on your 3 7pm plays you need cash and right now there are some cash guys that set up shot. Didn’t see anything like this until football season started last month.
Mob books are gonna lose some volume no doubt IMO but this has brought in alot of new gamblers which could help soften the blow. Problem is the fan duel app is so good and you can get paid same day that it can compete with Mob book .

Sports leagues could score $4.2B from legal betting
Legal sports betting stands to generate an extra $4.2 billion a year for America’s four main professional sports leagues, according to a new study. The study by Nielsen Sports allocates $2.3 billion of the windfall to the NFL, followed by $1.1 billion to MLB, $585 million to the NBA and $216 million to the NHL.

Thought this comment from the Director of Gaming Enforcement in New Jersey was interesting -
Rebuck testified that the illegal gambling market is “massive” in the US, operating in broad daylight. “They are extremely robust,” he said. “They make our operations look like a five-and-dime store.”

Nevada sportsbooks have record September
More money was bet -- and lost -- at Nevada sportsbooks in September than any other month since the state began tracking sports betting revenue reports in 1984. Nevada books won $56.3 million off $571 million in bets in September. Both are all-time highs, according to Nevada Gaming Control, which released September revenue numbers Tuesday.

Figure it's gotta be a post-legalization bump. Interesting that the net was about 10%.willychichi wrote: ↑Tue Oct 30, 2018 2:57 pm Nevada sportsbooks have record September

Not too crazy. Most juice for offshore sportsbooks is about 10%. You'd think the take would be more but I'm not sure if this was pretax or not.Wiseguy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 30, 2018 3:35 pmFigure it's gotta be a post-legalization bump. Re: Supreme Court Ruling on Sports Betting
Actually, you're pretty lucky if you can find a line as low as 10%. I don't know about street books.
Re: Supreme Court Ruling on Sports Betting
Well I'm talking more about net profit than whatever the built-in vig is, and that they may not necessarily be the same thing in the end.

Re: Supreme Court Ruling on Sports Betting
Take is 5-7% of handle historically. 10% being net is a good month. its all random fluctuation.
its funny though. all the "locals" i know got beat in September.

Re: Supreme Court Ruling on Sports Betting
