There’s NOT A LOT goi g on down there...there is some action, but it’s a far cry from the hotbed it once was. And the difference today is the amount of informants that are giving that information out. I remember when Anthony Parrillo was called a Consigliere yet nobody could prove he was even made. Attrition KILLED Providence and Matty G is 66. While I do believe that there may be some bookmaking and even a little bit of loansharking, there is a reason the power base shifted to Boston.TwoPiece wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 8:17 amJust cause shit isn't in the news or you haven't heard about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. We've seen it here countless times, made guys fly under the radar for years, even decades, until we finally hear about them, then guys get to updating their charts and doing research. After all this time I'm not sure why it's so inconceivable that there's things we're not aware of

Yes, but he hasn’t been anywhere around anybody since his release. He’s in his 90’s. Last I heard, he was back in his old apartment above the laundromat on Atwells Avenue

I’m on Federal Hill a few times per month...And the Italian population is nonexistent. Most of the Italians move to the suburbs just like Little Italy in Manhattan been shrunk to a few square blocks over the last 20 years. There are more Puerto Ricans and Brazilians then there are Italians in Providence.TwoPiece wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 8:21 amProvidence and RI in general has always had a huge Italian community, even now. I know Ray Sr was born in Mass but I'm not sure when he relocated or exactly why, but he definitely had tons of clout with politicians and the local authorities.SILENT PARTNERZ wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 6:47 amYou make a good point. I thought Rhode Island, especially Prov was a good place
for the mob. And that the local authorities were more amenable towards taking
payoffs. Thats why Ray Patriarca moved there.

The Saint (passed), Eddy Lato (still in prison), Bobo Marapese (in prison) Joe Achille (recently passed), Bobby D (flipped), Shacks (in his 90’s), Matty Gugs (recently released).
These were the power players in Providence. Attrition caught up with all of them. Matty was released to a world that is far different than when he went in.

Bobo Marrapese departed about a year and a half ago as well, same with Chippy Scivola. R.I. is dying out apparently.

Interesting stuff on a faction not often talked about or thought of when it comes to NE mafia. Could it be that CT faction is closer to the level of the Providence faction at this point in time? How many made guys out of CT at this point?Cheech wrote: ↑Tue Oct 02, 2018 4:22 pmNot related to Eugene.SILENT PARTNERZ wrote: ↑Tue Oct 02, 2018 10:44 amInteresting article and insight into AA's crew. Interesting, here is what I found on 'AA' from CT when he pled out in 2004. Don't hear too much of him in the NE area. Lot of associates names in here too. How many of them are made? Presuming not many?
Related to Mr. Rooster perhaps? 14 years later, there could be guys from the list that have been made in the New Haven area.
The gross gambling amount was 2.3mil in 4 months, then x3 for the year is 6.9mil.
10% book commission fees = $690, 000 for the year.
John zullo dead. Mariano is related to billy. Steve Dtillo is known as Schmoo. He's a little pudgy guy. 2 stints in college. Anthony Notarino is known as Tony Nots. Lamberti is a referee for high school basketball or he used to. Johnny Vitello they say is made. Idk for sure.
They are bookmakers. It's a network. Ascenzia came up under Taddei.

What nobody realizes it that the families all worked together, not so divided- some guys hung more with other families than their own. And so many New York guys came to connecticut over the years down in stamford/Greenwich/Norwalk area that there's no clear distinction between Connecticut, NYC, Westchester members. These guys do business wherever they can make money and it's just easier where there's lots of Italians because they have access to everything. And there's more Italians in Ct per capita than in NY or NJ. So many connected guys that don't make headlines but make lots of money, guys that don't want to be made, just want to earn. They blur the line and that's what this has always been about.
Stamford package is a suicide mission as the Gambinos have proved.
Westside has Bridgeport all the way to stamford. garbage and all the titty bars are theirs in Bridgeport and Milford. no busts in like 20 years lol. see the difference?
anthony a. and crew all bookmakers.
Salude!

Re: Boston Family
Perfectly said Cheech we both know about the guy for the Westside with the strip joints and everything else they been moving quietly for quite some time now .....shitload of associates and many bookmakersin CT theres unbelievable money down Stamford/Norwalk way but its proved to be dangerous Tony couldnt stay out of the can when he was alive and he was the man down there but couldnt get a long run and thats what its all about its a shame how he passed after doing that stretch would have been interesting how things took shape . The main man for the Binos down there has been home for a little while now and usually he has a hard time staying quiet but hes got some time on federal probation but if he hasnt gotten it already, which he might have ,i think hes due to get that button soon god knows hes been wanting it hes been putting in work since he was young ,making moves for Tony. There is definetely alot of money being made in CT for the Binos and Westside that i know for sure, im not to familiar with Ascenzia or what Patriarcas may have but it is interesting. Personally im familiar with Waterbury New Haven and anything between there and New York .

Re: Boston Family
Why are there so few Lucchese in CT? Seems odd given the close proximity to Bronx/Westchester and their historical ties to the area.
Re: Boston Family
While I'm not ready to write off Providence completely yet, the cases have dropped off considerably after 2011. Up to that point, the Providence faction still had 14 members, a lot of associates, and was quite active. But indictments and deaths have cut that in half. 6 members have died since then, and 1 flipped; leaving 7 left, with at least 1 inactive and another in prison. Anyway, indictments (or lack thereof) over an extended period of time are the clearest indicator of the state of things. If there continues to be little of that in Providence, that will tell us what we need to know.
Dead since 2011:
Rudolph “Rudy Earl” Sciarra (2012)
Pasquale “Patsy” Galea (2015)
Anthony St. Laurent (2016)
Frank “BoBo” Marrapese (2017)
Alfred "Chippy" Scivola (2017)
Joseph “Joe the Bishop” Achille Sr. (2018)
Current Providence members :
1. Vito “The Ox” DeLuca
2. William "Billy Blackjack" Delsanto
3. Matthew "Matty Gugs" Guglielmetti Jr
4. Edward "Eddie" Lato
5. Luigi “Louie/Baby Shanks” Manocchio
6. Raymond “Junior” Patriarca
7. Joseph Ruggiero
There is still a fair amount of mob activity in Connecticut but its the Gambinos and Genovese families, who have always had a presence there. Not the Patriarcas.
As for the numbers racket, I think Cheech is right. There were still fairly regular mob numbers busts in the New York/New Jersey area for several years post-2000. But those have dropped off and, unless I'm overlooking something, I think the last charges involving a numbers operation was the 2009/2010 Genovese bust of Danny Leo, Anthony Palumbo, Charles Salzano, Rocco Petrozza, etc.
He also makes a good point about bets wagered vs net profit. I've used the Philly family Borgata case before as an example. It handled $60 million in bets over a 20 month period. 5% profit over that time is $3 million. But that is split up between the two-dozen people in the case. Which, if you did evenly (an unlikely scenario) comes to $125,000 each over the 20 months. And that's not taking into account the likely big chuck kicked up the ladder.
