Michael Franzese

Post by rayray »

I caught a mob show on REELZ that focused on Michael Franzese with a few others doing some talking, retired cops, lawyers and a mob associate Frank Castagnaro who emphasized his love for John Gotti so much that he wouldn't talk about him. It was from 2012 but I never saw it before.

Michael Franzese said he was made by Tommy DiBella along with 6 others, I thought he said 76' but I could be wrong. It could have been 77'.

MF said that all six others were all dead and none of them died of natural causes. Do we know who the 6 members are?

Sounded like MF didn't like John Gotti or maybe preferred not being involved with the guy. Something about a flea market and a drug dealer that MF chased but the guy belonged with Gotti, caused a sitdown that MF and Sonny walked away with 250k.

He sure was making some cash with that gas tax scam, claims up 40 million per month at the peak.

Salvatore "Big Sal" Miciotta, Vincent "Jimmy" Angelino, Vito Guzzo and John Minerva are 4 of them. Miciotta flipped and the other 3 were whacked. Not sure who the other two are. Maybe Giuliano “Jilly” Greca is one since he was a Colombo who was made around 1977 and later got clipped.

Thanks Pogo, looks like Angelino rose pretty high in the Colombo family eventually getting killed by Carmine Sessa and Vito Guzzo goes on a hunting trip never making it back home.

Would the May 1977 ceremony be the one where Little Allie Boy Persico was made?

I didn't realize Allie was made that young. He got his button in his early to mid 20's?

Yeah he would have been around 23 when he got made. I guess having your father and uncle running things has its perks.

Not much of a perk considering he must have spent half the time since then in jail. I wonder if he spends more time in jail than his dad before dying.

Last weeks Gangland news notes Columbo soldier Vito Guzzo was part of the dustup in prison recently.

This the same Vito as that made in 77?

Correct. The one made in 1977 got whacked in the 80s. I believe this one is his son.
