Yeah Vitale flipping was a huge blow. It also led to others flipping like Tartaglione which was also a big blow.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

That list is from the government report recommending leniency for his sentencing. I uploaded it in the FBI files section.

Frank Coppa started and they all flipped one after another onward. Many of these guys have decided to flip even before they ever get arrested.
Re: Sal Vitale's conquest against the Bonanno's
Coppa and Vitale put the wheels in motion for the domino effect of defections. But Tartaglione was not only important on info from old crimes but also remember he wore a wire and took out the replacement street bosses after the initial arrests leading to additional arrests.Pogo The Clown wrote:Yeah Vitale flipping was a huge blow. Does anyone have a list of the successive indictments from 2002-2007 and who was named in them? I know from the original ones in 2002 their were about 5 big ones that included 12 superseding or so indictments. Would give a good picture as to how much damage was done in those five years.
