S. Burnstein's Mafia Insider/GangsterReport news - now free
Hey guys, sorry Ive been gone for a little.
Quick announcement , Ive decided to make my weekly north American lcn column free of charge. I probably should have gone that way the entire time. But heck, you live and learn. The entire site (www.gangsterreport.com) is unlocked now. If you paid for a subscription, your card/purchase wasn't charged. I appreciate everyone's support and apologize for the flakiness. Just to clarify, my gangster report website has always been free, but for a couple of weeks i was charging 4;99 a month for a weekly mob article called "The Mafia Insider", in Capeci's Ganglandnews style, touching on three diff mafia-related stories from three diff U.S. locales. Now, it will all be free.

And a heads up - I have two new books on high-ranking LCN bosses/underbosses that I will announce soon.

Great stuff. I like your article on 'Big Desi', which was well written and contains new information. I hope you continue investigating Montreal. There's so much we don't know....
I think it's a smart thing to do making it free. This will attract many more readers.

That is great, man. Thank you.
I am sorry that monetizing it didn't work, but it seems unlikely that any mob newsletter would generate much profit. I have to wonder how many subscribers Jerry Capeci has... most of his would-be customers are the types who would know about the forums where thankfully there are people who post the columns for free.

Just a correction for your Consalvo story...
Louis LaRasso was only the underboss for a period of time in the 1950's and was just a soldier from 1960 until just before his death, when he was promoted to capo.

DeCavalcante also retired in 1982.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Hey Scott, Sal Manzo a bookie disappeared in 1987, the Cammisano's are also suspects in his disappearance.

Reading the article on Harry "the hook", Harry was not involved in the David Bonnadonna murder. Bonnadonna was also not killed because of the on going river key war. Rather he was killed because he was working with the Spero brothers in their attempt to take over the family from Civella.

I think that was covering all of the murders that Aleman was "suspected" of.
