The book about the FBN files starkly makes this point as well.

I think this is the report Wiseguy is talking about, it's 448 pages so it will take a couple minutes to open.Wiseguy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 7:01 pmI've been trying to find the actual link again. I have it downloaded on my phone but no idea how to put it on the forum. It's a big document. It's partly why I included the name of the full name of the report, ie in case anyone could locate it. It was compiled under the supervision of G. Robert Blakey, who of course drafted RICO.aleksandrored wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 5:53 pmthanks man, do you know where I can find this report? I was curious to see LCN and drugs in the early yearsWiseguy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 4:38 pm I stumbled across a report from 1982 called Organized Crime in the United States: A Review of the Public Record. It's several hundred pages long and pages 220 to 394 go into fairly extensive detail about LCN drug trafficking from the early years up through the 1970s. Interesting stuff.

Also Nick Bonina was a large narcotics trafficker in the 80s with the Luchesse, when Corallo was caught on tapeWiseguy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 28, 2018 3:02 pm This is one of those dead horse topics. Even when there was a nominal ban, there were enough examples pretty much across the board to show it was often ignored. Some bosses had no problem with it and were up to their eyeballs in drugs. Some allowed it off the record with the understanding if those dealing got caught, they were on their own. And even those so called hard-liner bosses had examples. Castellano allowed Patsy Conte to deal and took drug money from him. Chin (who supposedly had a pact with Castellano to kill those dealing) not only had been charged with trafficking years before, but made Bellomo (a known trafficker) his acting boss. Same with Corallo, who complains about dealers on the Jaguar bug, but then allows Amuso (a known trafficker) to take over. And as for Accardo, people have given several examples of guys dealing (and not in secret) while he was boss - Buccieri, Torrello, Infelise, Iacullo, Pape, etc.

Did it compare which Families did more drug trafficking? We just had a thread with that question and it seemed Lucchese Fam was biggestWiseguy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 7:01 pmI've been trying to find the actual link again. Yeah, it said the Luccheses were the first family to get deep into drug trafficking. Joined later, of course, by the Gambinos and Bonannos.JeremyTheJew wrote: ↑Mon Aug 13, 2018 8:59 amDid it compare which Families did more drug trafficking? I always love hoiw Bonanno tried to create this myth about drugs not being in his 'tradition'. His own underboss was convicted for pushing plus Joe chaired the '57 meeting in Palermo if I remember correctly lol.

I'm pretty sure Buscetta identified Galante as being at the meeting and being UB at the time.JeremyTheJew wrote: ↑Mon Aug 13, 2018 3:15 pmAs stated numerous times galante was never UB for Bonanno. But now that I bring it up .... that is pretty high for him to be at the Des Palmes meeting.

Re: The Mob and Drugs?
id be surprised if these guys WERENT involved with pills, but picturing a made member hand pressing counterfeit Roxis with blue dye and Fentanyl analogues someone had sourced for him via the DarkWeb seems like an all time low moment when it comes to LCN and drug dealing
now that the pill mill craze is dead and gone and doctors everywhere have tightened the purse strings, i wouldnt be surprised to see LCN getting involved with shady rehab / treatment facilities + medical billing. people are making killings in that right now. to the point some insurance providers are pulling out of Florida all together LOL
