I don't doubt Burnstein has reliable sources in Philly which he probably developed when he was doing the Leonetti book. His tabloid writing style is hard to take some times, but he has been right about this family's recent activities on several occasions.

I have only read a handful of his articles, a few of the Philly ones (I don't know shit about the midwest or Boston), and it's like reading the national inquirer. If he changed his fuckin goofy writing style he'd be taken more seriously.

Good point. He reported back in 2015 that Lance was moving up and taking over the daily operations. He also mentioned Grande taking over Lance's crew back then which seems spot on.

IIRC the article he wrote basically said Mazzone slowing down and Lance was going to be the guy between Mazzone and the capos then as time went on it became clear (from the Merlino trial) that Lance was running things for Merlino as Mazzone took more of a backseat.

So many of his sources "quotes" sound fabricated. I now I'm not the only one who has noticed that in the past. As for his LE sources, while I'm sure he has some, so much of his info that he attributes to his LE sources have been proven to be either totally wrong or completely at odds with what LE actually says. So it is impossible to tell how much of what he says actually comes from LE or is something he just includes to give his articles more credibility.
