Re: Patriarcas 2015 ?
To Everyone: With all due respect to Tmarotta, I have a list of 53 names (as did Tmarotta) of individuals Limone was to stay away from, but while the number (53) is the same, the names are not. I am curious where Tmarotta got the list. I got mine from a list in an article adjacent to the aforementioned Howie Carr article in the Boston Herald.
The list I have:
Carmen DiNunzio
Anthony DiNunzio
Louis DiNunzio
Mark Rossetti
Darin Bufalino
Michael Prochilo Sr.
Michael Prochilo Jr.
Gregory Costa
James Martorano
Ralph Lamattina
Joseph Lamattina
William Angelesco
Anthony Spagnolo
Pryce Quintina
Lee Rizzo
Cono Frizzi
Robert Carrozza
John Cincotti
Frank Imbruglia
Richard Gambale
Vincent Federico
Vincent Ferrara
Fredrick Simone
Vincent Gioacchini
John Salemme
Dennis Lepore
Biagio DiGiacomo
Richard Costa
Louis Manocchio
Robert DeLuca
Edward Lato
Alfred Scivola
William Delsanto
Vito DeLuca
Frank Marrapese
Pasquale Galea
Anthony St. Laurent
Rudolph Sciarra
Raymond Patriarca Jr.
Joseph Ruggero
Joseph Achille
Matthew Gugliemetti
Mark Archer
Joseph DiPrizio
Steven Edelstein
Anthony Lovuolo
Mario Marquardo
Frank Pagano
Thomas Palladino
Dominic Santoro
Dominic Serino
Anthony Squillante
Ralph Ventola
I have copied the above names right from the article on the list.
I wonder why Tmarotta and I have discrepancies in the names???
Regards,
BeatiPaoli

Re: Patriarcas 2015 ?
He is 100% not a made guy. I wouldn't even have labeled him a associate until i saw this list . I always just thought of him as a bookmaker . He has always had a legit job and I figured this brought in extra cash to supplement his income .
To be truthful we are not super close . I probably see him about 4-5 times per year at family functions . He did grow up in North end so maybe he is closer to these guys than I thought . Very surprised to see his name on that list
He did get pinched once in the mid to late 90"s but it was only for gambling nothing else . He pled guilty and I am pretty sure he got probation and a fine . He definitely did not have to do any time

Gerard "The Frenchman" Ouimette, a notorious mobster who terrorized New England for more than two decades, died on Saturday night at a medium security federal prison in Butner, North Carolina.
Gerard T. Ouimette, a notorious mobster who terrorized New England for more than two decades, died Saturday night at a medium-security federal prison in Butner, North Carolina. Ouimette, 75, had heart and other health problems at the prison where he spent the past 19 years. Kevin Ouimette Lynch said his uncle was diagnosed with lung cancer about 10 days ago and died in his sleep.
Lynch said that Ouimette spent 46 years locked up in the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston and some of the toughest federal prisons in the nation, including the Lewisburg Penitentiary in Pennsylvania and Marion, a super-maximum prison in Illinois. On April 16, 1979, the FBI produced a document about Ouimette and his known background as the leader of a non-Italian faction of organized crime figures: "Subject OUIMETTE controls a large group of criminals known as the OUIMETTE faction, whose criminal activities include gambling, loansharking, extortion and property violations such as major hijackings, robberies and burglaries. Although not Italian, OUIMETTE enjoys the same stature as lieutenants under RAYMOND L.S. PATRIARCA, who controls organized crime (OC) in the Boston and New England area."

Peter Limone or Carmen DiNunzio are the top guys in Boston.

An Animal Peeks Out Of His Cage: Retired Boston Mobster Still Holds Weight
While for all intents and purposes Boston mob leader Vincent (Vinnie the Animal) Ferrara is retired from his life in the rackets, he is occasionally sought out for advice by New England mafia brass, per exclusive Gangster Report sources. His counsel from afar has been especially valuable in recent years, according to these sources, as the Patriarca crime family has come under siege by the government resulting in a string of crippling indictments, convictions and defections.
Ferrara, a one-time powerful capo and someone who people viewed as a future don candidate in his wiseguy heyday, was nailed by the feds in 1990 on charges of racketeering and murder. His plea agreement landed him a 22-year prison sentence that was reduced to 16 years after it was revealed that the main witness in the homicide he was charged with recanted his assertions and the federal prosecutor in the case failed to inform Ferrara and his attorney in plea negotiations
Today, the 65-year old former Goodella owns and operates multiple legitimate businesses in his old North End neighborhood stomping grounds. In the late-2000s, he was charged with participating in a mob-backed bookmaking ring, however was acquitted of the claims by a judge at trial.
The New England mafia has seen better days. Patriarca syndicate don Peter (the Crazy Horse) Limone isn’t as sharp as he used to be – reports indicate that Limone, 81, is beginning to slip mentally. Acting boss, Anthony (Spucky) Spagnolo is under indictment. Family underboss Carmen (the Big Cheese) DiNunzio just got out from prison, but is on strict parole restrictions. Former underboss Robert (Bobby the Cigar) DeLuca and heavily-feared capo Mark Rosetti (another Russo protégé) have both been unveiled as FBI informants.

While I like Scott's website, I have seen some serious, glaring inaccuracies in some of the articles. He has a guy by the name of Anthony "The Ponytail" Parillo listed as a Consigliere when this guy has never been made. He was the only source who "ever" reported that Parillo was a high ranking member. Parillo killed a guy a long time ago and worked at a strip club. As for Peter Limone "slipping mentally" that is the first I ever heard of it (not that I'm saying Scott is wrong). He also wrote about some Youngstown things that were half true. I'm not sure who Scott's sources for those areas are, but writers information are as good as their sources.

Re: Patriarcas 2015 ?
I respect the guy professionally and personally. He writes about families no one else does so that should get a decent following. But If I could just get him to STOP calling every boss he encounters "don" as if it's a formal title I'd be fine. "Don" and "godfather" are TV terms. There's never found on a single FBI bug picking up those terms to signify rank. In Detroit, Nove Tocco was picked up saying: "They want to make (Jackie Giacalone) the next Jack Tocco." Those terms exactly.
I can just surmise that Scott goes with "don" and "godfather" and "goodfellas" because he sees it as a form of self-marketing.

FWIW, Leonetti uses "don" a few times in his book, but I guess he uses it the same way Scott does. It's a term you can throw around to connect with the general public who mostly learns about these guys through movies and TV shows.Chris Christie wrote:There's never found on a single FBI bug picking up those terms to signify rank.

Co-authored by Scott Burnstein. Find me one instance in mob history where it's mentioned in direct terms- not narrative- when someone is anointed "Don" or Godfather.Ivan wrote:FWIW, Leonetti uses "don" a few times in his book, but I guess he uses it the same way Scott does. It doesn't make a difference, and yet it does (do we want assholes asking if Merlino is the Philly Don or Godfather? Those are terms that carry a Hollywood-esque Godfather mythology that the mob is some superpower presence, when it reality it's much more pathetic. I'm not trying to be an asshole here, Burnstein has more knowledge on Detroit and Chicago than I do. But as a historian I can cite inaccuracies. It burns my ass whenever he cities Black Bill Tocco as "Detroit founding Don" when in reality he didn't found shit. That family goes back to 1905 at least and articles labeling Joe Tocco as leader of the "whateverthefuck gang" and his brother heading "TheChedroolGang" are tabloid creations. All these guys came up under the Adamo-Giannola group. Unless people want to believe that this singular group splintered in the 10's and rejoined in the 30's under Bill Tocco who was in touch with Luciano who formed "the Lah GozaNostrahh" with Black Bill as Detroit's LCN rep then I can't argue any further. Some people will believe what they want to believe.
