Family Transfers After 1931

Re: Family Transfers After 1931
Tronolone's transfer opens up the possibility that John Simone may have transferred from Buffalo>Philly as well. Simone looks to have been established with the Buffalo family before he moved to Trenton in the 1940s and had a close lifelong friendship with Tronolone (not close enough to save his life, though). No concrete reason to suspect it, but something to consider.
Re: Family Transfers After 1931
If I remember it was Gravano who said Tronolone had a friendship with Castellano and Castellano asked him to trapped John Simone. I didn't check so might be wrong.
Re: Family Transfers After 1931
The Cleveland family was represented by the Genovese family on the Commission and Tronolone reached out to Tony Salerno about the Simone situation, so Salerno sent word to Tronolone that there was a contract on Simone. Tronolone ended up reassuring Simone that everything was being worked out and to return to the NY/NJ area. Simone was close to the Gambino members in Trenton like Nick Russo who reported to the Aurello crew, which is why I believe is how Castellano and Gravano got in with him to set him up. Something along those lines but maybe there was also a relationship between Castellano and Tronolone, too.
Re: Family Transfers After 1931
I think that sounds correct and I am mistaken about the friendship with Castellano.

Re: Family Transfers After 1931
When Tronolone took over as Acting Boss after the Cleveland family was decimated, he was still close to the Genovese Family. The real relationship between Cleveland and NY goes back to Joe the Boss Masseria, his brother, Charlie Masseria who lived in Cleveland was close to Angelo Lonardo’s father and uncles as well as Tony & Frank Milano.. Angelo was very close to Tony Salerno. Just another example of how connected all these guys were through prior relationships and shared heritage.B. wrote: ↑Thu May 03, 2018 10:19 amThe Cleveland family was represented by the Genovese family on the Commission and Tronolone reached out to Tony Salerno about the Simone situation, so Salerno sent word to Tronolone that there was a contract on Simone.
