Chin’s Nephew Opening Restaurant in Eastchester
The Chin’s nephew is opening up a restaurant in Eastchester called Gigante’s.

It's this one right?

I remember he was under some tax evasion charges with his other restaurant (Mulino's) some time ago.

Yeah that’s it, hasn’t opened yet I believe. They’re working on it now- looks like they’re sinking tons of money into the joint. Looks really nice so far!!
Re: Chin’s Nephew Opening Restaurant in Eastchester
I think I've mentioned it elsewhere in the boards, but there is a statement on the menu at Mulino's that under no circumstances will any patron be ALLOWED to pay their bill in Cash....all transactions MUST be via credit card.
I think it was part of their plea agreement with the government that they NOT be allowed to play with cash....imagine a restaurant that doesn't want cash?
On the other hand, it's not hard to see how they could be sinking tons of money into a place that will charge over 20.00 dollars for a main course of "roasted baby heirloom carrots". I was just at another place in Bedford the other night that had it on the menu as a "vegan option" and couldn't help but laugh if my grandmother from the Bronx knew that somebody was charging (and getting) 20 bucks for a plate of roasted carrots.

Not quite a joint I could see his late uncle dining in.
Reminds me of The Sopranos commendatori with Pauli looking at his plate in disgust and then trying to order Macaroni and gravy ...
“And you thought the Germans were classless pieces of shit”
I hope I referenced this quote clearly.

lmao. I just watched this episode the other day on HBO on Demand. I don't think I had seen it since it aired. Paulie really was acting like a huge pain in the ass that episode. re: Chin and his dining habits. I wish that WMOB page was still up with the Giovanelli wire tap transcripts; I do remember them talking about how Chin liked to go to a certain jewish deli just because it was open late at night. He strikes me as one of those old school 1st / 2nd generation guys who only really eats if it's cooked from his mom or wife. My father in law is like that...damn near 70 years old and he'll only eat outside of home if it's at a wedding or something where he's not only forced to, but where it'd be rude to turn it down
