This made me think about how many other wiseguys are paying back huge forfeitures when they are elderly. I imagine it's very common for mobsters to have to consistently pay back monthly installments until their 70s and 80s, which could be another reason why wiseguys never seem to retire.
One thing though is when it comes to OC fortfeitures that are cash, the govt already has it in hand from the raid itself for the most part. So it's more of a signature at sentencing. The payments afterwards are a joke. If you know what you are doing, you pay $50 a month just to be on the books. "Oh Im struggling for work, as a convicted felon"...blah blah. They can't do much because you are bagging groceries at Demoula's. And whether it is a fine or whatever my old man and uncle have been paying back their conviction fortfeitures\fines forever. Just to give you some insight my old man was convicted in 1990 and uncle was in 2007. Take care,

Luca

Glad I didn't pick Arizona or Virginia.
All roads lead to New York.
