First of all it's awesome to know that the Black Hand forum had the scoop before Jerry Capeci did (thanks to Bronx). I have always appreciated Bronx post from the jump. And I have always said, instead of trying to jump down members (who may have street knowledge) throats, first hear them out and see if you can learn something from them. This forum is the best OC forum because we have a mix of everyone here, including members like Bronx who seem to have an ear on the streets, and seems to know people in pictures that we can't seem to figure out. So again, thanks Bronx for breaking the story about Petey Red. Your post here is always welcome and appreciated.......Soliai

But that’s the point snakes. The whole issue here is how bronx gets his info. Bronx states he is an older Italian gent who is from NYC and hears things and has a long history firsthand with LCN.

And he got laughed off the bus.

So yes it does matter how, because ITS ALL ABOUT THE HOW. This isn’t an Internet geek, a Facebook fan, or the ‘wino down the street’ as you so eloquently put it.

This is about a guy who is PROVEN to be who he says he is.
And maybe we should show a little respect to that.

Because the ‘how’ is everything.

My anger by the way, though I quoted your specific post is not directed at you specifically.

And I’m happy to move on, but this point HAD to be made and made with volume and clarity.

I, for one, don't doubt bronx is an Italian guy living in New York. We've had a lot of those on the forums, including some who do indeed hear things from time to time and may pass it along on a forum.

Camo hit the nail on the head earlier in this thread. Some who have been on these forums long enough are going to have a healthy dose of scepticism because of all the bullshitters over the years (not as many now as in the past fortunately).

But another issue, which Camo also mentioned, are those guys who actually do hear or know some things. That's all good and fine as far as it actually goes. But it becomes a problem when they begin to present their opinions as fact or claim to have more insight than they realistically can have. I'm not saying bronx has done this (I don't remember one way or the other).

And I would add that the above can become an even bigger problem after they have been shown to be right about one thing or another. A certain following tends to develop and some posters, who love the idea of having an inside source, begin to treat everything that poster says as gospel. It happened with pic on the RD forum and it happened with PB too.

Point being, the occassional info guys like bronx, PB, and others can give is valuable and appreciated as long as everyone doesn't take it too far. It's one thing to hear a guy died and be the first to post about it. It's another to be aware about the inner workings of a crime family and be privy to knowledge that just isn't going to be available outside of the mob itself, law enforcement, etc. Again, not saying bronx has done this.
