Correct. They hit Gotti four times, seriously doubt they’ll let Merlino skip on one.

Was it true about it being 9 to 3 to convict or is the jury votes not made public?SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 6:55 pmCorrect. They hit Gotti four times, seriously doubt they’ll let Merlino skip on one.

I’d believe little unless you receive sources.Frank wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 10:46 pmWas it true about it being 9 to 3 to convict or is the jury votes not made public?SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 6:55 pmCorrect. They hit Gotti four times, seriously doubt they’ll let Merlino skip on one.

Thanks if true I would agree with you that they would take him to court again. The only thing that might hold them back is that they just don't want to lose a conviction again because of the bad publicity they got from this trial.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 11:32 pmCapeci reporting jury was 10-2.Frank wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 10:46 pmWas it true about it being 9 to 3 to convict or is the jury votes not made public?SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 6:55 pmCorrect. Oh okay I thought it was the other way. Yes if it was 10 to acquit than I don't think they will ask for new trial.joeycigars wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 11:48 pm10 to acquit is a hard nut to crack ,they wont try that again its embarrassing ,SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 11:32 pmCapeci reporting jury was 10-2.Frank wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 10:46 pmWas it true about it being 9 to 3 to convict or is the jury votes not made public?SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 6:55 pmCorrect. It remains to be seen what happens I don't know what the government has up it's sleeve for a retrial. The last ten years the government's approach to the mob is to keep them in check here and there by building a medium level racketeering and gambling case through a informant and doing a sweep in a public manner as a way to flex their muscle for publicity. In reality these cases are not that strong and I think the government actually prefers not to go trial and have them all take some sort of plea agreement. This ends up benefiting the mobsters as they take the plea for 3-8 years depending on the charges and get out on parole/supervised release in around half that time they get to keep most of their ill gotten cash and assets, and don't have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on legal fees to go to trial. They do the time keep most of their money and then back to business as usual.

Re: Merlino Trial thread
havent seen the article, i know what i was told, and i know who told me, and its not a news reporter or blogger or whatever the fuck...im sorry if my 'source' was one off, if indeed he was..my source also told me it was a mistrial, before it was reported anywhere..i dont post much, and review everyone of my posts and tell me where i talk out of my ass and make shit up, cuz i dont..i get not believing anything unless you read it..me..i believe about 25% of what i read, in any news article, be it oc.politics etc..but thats just me..anyway, if im wrong, i greatly apology, especially to mr blackstein, but it wasnt fuckin made up, and it came from the same source who was accurate when it was declared a mistrial

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.
