I figure the book will about the life of his father, Joe Di Maulo. But I expect that a large part of the book will be about the Cotronis, as she was the former spouse of Francesco Cotroni, son of the late Frank Cotroni. The later was also her godfather at he baptism.

Ok, I got confused when you wrote "from Québec". I thought you meant a member from Québec. Sorry about that!

Milena Di Maulo tells about her life in Florida when, in 1971, her father Jos Di Maulo fled Montréal in order to avoid to appear before the Quebec Crime Probe that was at that time holding hearings on organized crime groups in Montreal.

If Daniel Renaud's research in his Cellule 8002 vs Mafia is correct, you wonder whether Vito Rizzuto knew that, in 2011, Salvatore Montagna had asked Di Maulo to be "the godfather." Or maybe Vito knew and was at least somewhat happy with Di Maulo for having declined the offer.

Did Renaud offer an explanation of why Montagna asked this of Di Maulo? I wonder why Montagna tried to kill Desjardins if they had the same interests?

So apparantly Di Maulo did not approve of the murder of Montagna and Vito Rizzuto's motive for the murder of Di Maulo was to hurt Desjardins.

I think it's now evident Di Maulo wasn't much involved in the coup, especially if he declined the offer to become boss (capo?). I've believed in this from the beginning.

In a certain manner, from what we know now, according to the book, it shows that Desjardins had become "uncontrollable" following the murder of Montagna. Di Maulo paid the price.

If he was not interested in asuming power then he didn't deserve to pay that price. But Rizzuto was thirsty for blood and killing Di Maulo was a symbolic message to his real enemies.

Rizzuto seen Di Maulo's inactivity as him being a traitor, plus the fact he obviously wouldn't ok or kill Desjardins. As pissed as Rizzuto was Di Maulo should have known better. I think much like Sonny Black, he knew his time was up. He had to.
