Avellino in commision case
HANG IT UP NICKY. ITS TIME TO GO HOME.
Re: Avellino in commision case
Avellino was indicted in a separate case, plus he was not a member of the Commission. The two indicted in the Commission case who weren't considered part of the Commission -- Scopo and Indelicato -- carried out crimes that the Commission conspired together to commit, namely the "Concrete Club" bid rigging scheme and the murder of Carmine Galante, respectively.

Who was the actual Boss of the Colombo's at that time, Persico is claiming he was not the boss during the commission bust?Snakes wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 1:07 pm Avellino was indicted in a separate case, plus he was not a member of the Commission. Obama's a pimp he coulda never outfought Trump, but I didn't know it till this day that it was Putin all along.
Re: Avellino in commision case
The consensus is that Persico was elected as boss whilst in prison in 1973, and that he put Thomas DiBella, an aging, proficient capo, as interim boss. Carmine himself claims that he was not installed as boss until 1980, and therefore was not privy to discussions about Carmine Galante being whacked.willychichi wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 3:45 pmWho was the actual Boss of the Colombo's at that time, Persico is claiming he was not the boss during the commission bust?Snakes wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 1:07 pm Avellino was indicted in a separate case, plus he was not a member of the Commission. Persico wasn't elected Boss in 1973. His pint is moot any way since he was part of the Commission for the other crimes during the 80s. Some of the young Philly guy's used similiar arguments after they were convicted in Rico case in 1988.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

I think Persico's angle on the 1980 date was that he wasn't part of the Galante murder.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 6:30 pm Persico wasn't elected Boss in 1973.
