Yes, I meant took over as Acting Boss. But it appears Rabitto was still Consigliere when the trouble with Palazzolo and Cammerano was happening. Now it appears there has beena successor to Rabitto and then the successor was replaced.

Doesn't mean they both hold the position. It means that from the time of the indictment (2012-2018) they held those positions.

Ah. Cheers Ptown.
Rabitto probably retired, I would think around when Cammarano took over. Isn't he 80 something?? I would think if he had any brain at all he would have gotten out, unless he wanted to die in prison.
Rabito was actively trying to retire which is evidenced by the fact that in 2012 he offered the position to Jack Bonventre, who declined. There is evidence that Rabito was consigliere all throughout 2015.
I don't know dick about dick.

Why?

It's strange that people think the Feds and Capeci are perfect and never make mistakes.

He created a thread saying half of everything Capeci says is bs. He's being glib.

I really don't understand how so many here end up with agendas about this stuff, like Hallibritain and his defence of his facebook groups. Unless you have a relative or a close real life friend involved in this stuff you really shouldn't be so personally involved IMO.

He was a NY based DeCavalcante Associate during the 90s. He was even proposed for membership at one point. Somehow he ended up with the Bonannos after the DeCavalcantes imploded. He was IDed as a Bonanno member in a indictment in the late 2000s but I forgot which one.

Busy January so far. Hopefully more information does come out about Rabito. In Sal Vitale's sentencing memo, it talks about how the government has been able to take down the "highest ranking member" of the Bonannos in succession: Massino, Urso, Basciano, Rabito, Mancuso, and Montagna. The order is successive, as they said, but I've never heard of Rabito being singled out as an acting boss or "highest ranking member". It could be a reference to him being on the panel, or maybe he served briefly as acting boss between Basciano and Mancuso, which is what this vague info seems to be saying.

Also, with the previous info about Bonventre turning down the consigliere position, it seems one of these two probably took the spot around that time and may have stepped down or been replaced with the other one later.

That is possible. In an article from 2004 Capeci said that it was expected that Massino was going to name Rabito as the new Acting Boss (this was before it came out that Massino was informing of course). So maybe he briefly did hold it. We know he was briefly on a ruling panel with Mancuso and Cicale in 2005. He was indicted in June 2005 as Acting Consiglieri though.

You’ve got it wrong . I wasn’t being glib at all , it was others on the groups saying that what capeci says is all bs . I happen to think capeci and the Feds info is usually bang on the money . Hence why it was strange that both got it wrong about cammerano’s title , when they are usually rarely wrong

And nobody said the feds are infallible. Just light years ahead of all the forum insiders and prognosticators put together.

Jeezus, NOBODY is saying otherwise.

As Capeci (himself states) gets most of his info from LE then as the Feds were wrong, it’s no surprise Capeci was as well.

The comment was a nonsense because HB acted surprised that LE got it wrong. About a secret society. As though they are infallible. That was all I was pointing out.

Nobody is comparing Capeci to forum posters for chrissakes.
