DiLeonardo has been one of my “favorite” snitches from a reader / entertainment perspective. The transcript from one of the Gotti Jr trials is great and one of the best publicaly available peices of LCN info straight from the horses mouth. I wish it were easier to find/get more trial transcripts

I am surprised he hasn't come out with a book yet. He seems very honest as to what he did and most importantly, why he did it. I know I would buy it

While awaiting trial, the Gambino family administration stopped all money going to him. When DiLeonardo asked why this was happening, they said he was robbing the family. DiLeonardo claimed that he was not robbing anyone in the family, and that the accusation was untrue. DiLeonardo sent a message back saying "I don't remember dying or getting life in prison. I may come home one day." The Gambino family then shelved him. That was the turning point for DiLeonardo, and he testified how it was a betrayal on their part and how it crushed him. That is just stupid of the administration with the knowledge he had on them . Greed will get you every time. They jump in to make money even when it may cost them twenty years away .

I think Peter Gotti might have been worried. Scars was a big money maker and liked by many. He was also very intelligent, you could hear that on his interviews. His family was respected and had been in the life since the 30's. I think Peter Gotti felt like Scarfo did with Salvie. He was threatened by him. I think Scars sensed it and rather than possibly be marked for death and because he was shelved for no reason he saw the writing on the wall and decided to cooperate. Just my opinion.
