im reading Mob Boss and it brought up a few things....

first, D'Arco claims it was Vario who lead him to his death rather then the Gotti crew. Also, that the Billy Batts hit was actually approved bc of a sports book Jimmy Burke had. it makes more sense that Vario killed him bc of th whole getting made idea. it was also believed Vario was fucking Hills wife and Tommy made a pass at her.

why was it believed for so long the Gotti crew killed Tommy?

Apparently Tommy raped her not just made a pass at her. I'm not sure where i read that though could be bs. I'm guessing people believed the Gotti Crew was involved because Bentvena was a Gambino guy and i think Foxy Jerothe was connected to the Gotti crew, may be misremembering though

It makes sense that the Batts murder was an authorized sneak kill on Vario's part, not saying it's accurate but makes sense.

I was always under the assumption that the Gotti crew was petitioning the Tommy D. clipping for the Foxy murder because Foxy and Gotti were friends. What year was the Foxy murder?

Didn't Tommy Agro tell Joe Dogs that he killed 2 of the DeSimone brothers ? Also that it was Gotti who requested Agro be the one to the hit. I think that is where Gotti got involved. He made a beef about Foxy. Probably to Dellecroce.

More than one family is involved in a hit in some matters. Look at the 3 capos murders. Bonannos do the hit, Gambino does disposal. That is only one example. It is not far fetched for the Gambino's to ask for DeSimone's murder, but ask the Lucchese's to set him up, bring Tommy to the slaughterhouse.In my opinion Gambino crews went to the Lucchese's and asked for the contract on Tommy and asked them to set him up as Tommy killed Batts and Foxy. The Luke's agreed, told Tommy he was being made in the Luke's, picked him up, took him to a house, led him to a room where Gambino hitman Gotti/Agro shot Tommy. Tommy was then taken to the Carneglia scrapyard and has never been seen again just like Favara.

Well, Tommy and Bobby were the 2 that the most is known about. Of course Tommy was a Lucchese associate and Bobby was a Gambino Associate in Tommy Agro's crew. Not much is known about Antony DeSimone other than he is their older brother and he was killed for being a rat. All I can find is a file on Mary Ferrell saying Anastasia ordered his death because he was a rat in the late 50s.

There is another file that says Vito Genovese ordered Anthony DeSimone's death. Has to be Tommy's older brother as it says he is in some way related to Frank DeSimone, the L.A. mobster.

if we didnt see goodfellas, im pretty sure none of us would have really cared about him. he didnt do anything significant.
