DeCavalcante Waterbury, Conn. Crew
Does anyone have info or can point to any info about this crew.
Insight about Joseph LaSelva and any other members would be
great. Thanks, SP

Joseph LaSelva was an UnderBoss based there. Michael “Mickey Poole” Puglia was their Capo there. Anthony LaSelva and Thomas LaSelva were 2 Soldiers there. I'm sure B. can provide more info on this faction.

DeCavs had/have a Conneticut crew?
Is it still active?

Long gone from what I understand. Pretty much the only families that still have a presence in Connecticut are the Gambinos and Genovese. Very little activity there even from the Patriarcas in recent years.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2017 8:58 pm DeCavs had/have a Conneticut crew?

Is this DOB correct? If so he would have been a Capo in his early 20s. Seems highly unlikely for this era.

DeCav CT Crew (1960s)
Underboss: Joseph LaSelva (1907-1983) [Later named as Consigliere by 1970s]
Captain: Michael 'Mickey Poole' Puglia (1915-1973)
Members: Frank Carbone (1902-1973), Louis 'Lulu' DiGiovanna (1916-1966), Joseph 'Pippi' Guerriero (1916-1993)
Possible Members: Thomas LaSelva (1911-1993)
Proposed Members: Anthony LaSelva (1920-1995)
Joseph LaSelva was said to have taken over from Johnny Grande who died around mid-1950s. He may have been a DeCav member, or just the local power whose operations were absorbed by the DeCavs after his death. Grande and the non-LaSelva CT members operated out of the Trinochria Club in Hartford.
August 1977: CI reports various DeCav info. States Frank Majuri 'assuming the head position in CT until a successor to the ailing Capo there is chosen'.
August 1978: CI reports re Underboss John Riggi meeting with Louis LaRasso and Michael Aquilante. States 'Mike is up from New Orleans and was told not go back, instead to go to Connecticut and take over'.

Re: DeCavalcante Waterbury, Conn. Crew
Great info as always. Wasn't Aquilante made in the early 80s? If so it would indicate that the Connecticut Cre was basically done by the late 70s.

Re: DeCavalcante Waterbury, Conn. Crew
Any idea what Aquilante was up to in New Orleans and/or if the DeCavs had any presence there aside from that? The idea of sending someone to CT to take over is interesting. I believe all of the known CT guys came up locally, but this could be an indication that men had been sent there before... or just a sign that their presence there had dwindled too much to find any organic members in the area.
