Today was a good day. I got Joe Pistone to autograph my copy of Donnie Brasco in Montreal.

Speaking of Pistone and Montreal, I've always wondered who the Montreal guys were that supposedly backed Mirra in his fake drug beef against Pistone.

As some of the other members of the audience and I expected before he delivered his presentation, there was an announcement that no photos were permitted. I immediately put my camera away. The only exception was those photos that were taken by the official photographer for the event--I understood these pictures to be for the benefit of the event's organizers.

I showed initiative by getting him to autograph the book before his presentation but I didn't have the gumption to ask for a picture of him or of the two of us.

That's pretty cool. I know people have varying opinions on him, but I am a fan. I like his books a lot. I wonder if he has another book in him. I bet he could tell a lot more stories. His job had to have been very stressful. Even some of the guys he busted said they still respected him after they found out he was a fed.
