Bessemer AL, A true shithole of a town. Stayed there when I went to Alabama Adventure theme park. Hometown of Bo Jackson. No Italian American organized crime there because there are very few Italians. There was a lot of gambling back then. Phenix City was a hub of organized crime but it was Dixie Mafia and what they called the smacker mob.
