Antiliar do you think the end or near end of these Families is do to made member mostly not wanting their kids in the life and also the lack of Italian Americans that actually wanted to get into the life.

I think the ultimate goal for a lot of made members was to set their children up in legitimate businesses. There's also a smaller pool of Italians and Italian-Americans interested in the OC lifestyle. So yes, you got it.

Antiliar, if simply being mentioned in those files is proof that they were Made then count these as so from the list I posted.

What was the most recent making ceremony Buffalo had before it became defunct? Because it doesn't look like they were planning on slowing down in the 1990s until the Laborers bust.

Isn't there a debate on them still active in a smaller way?

A handful of people think they're still active but they were essentially declared dead in 2006. It does seem a bit strange that there are a whole lot of (formerly) high-ranking guys out on the street but none of them seem to want to rebuild or re-organize the family. Side question: Which Buffalo guys, if any, are still active in crime?

I can't say for the others but Marcello in NOLA was known to be tight on making guys. I've gotten the names of very few he made and it was in no way keeping up with the guys that died off. I know there were several others but haven't been able to get names as of yet. After he died there's some debate as to Joe Marcello taking over as Carlos wanted it. He may have for a very short period but Anthony Carollo pushed him aside and made Frank Gagliano Underboss. Joe was still involved in things but not sure to what extant though he was busted along with the others in the video poker skimming bust in the early 90's. But the Family was pretty much done anyways after Carlos died. It just took awhile longer.

Info I have is Ranzino died in 76, the Mary Michel info woulda been from around late 50's/early 60's.....I guess anything is possible, he got divorced and hooked up with someone else.....but seems unlikely. I'm currently looking for his tomb, when I find it I'll look for that name or any Todaro name.

I'd love to see how many members, functioning crews/capos etc there were for the various families IE Bufalino, Trafficate, NO etc etc
One of the issues for a family like the Trafficantes is that being "made' was not much of an indication of influence or activity within the family. There were Cuban and Spanish associates who were closer to Trafficante than some members (guys like JOhnny Rivera, Caesar Rodriguez, etc.). Also, apart from the one making ceremony in the mid 1990s where Mamone was inducted by Steve Raffa, there are no dates for any other official ceremony in Tampa, at least that I know of- there may be some evidence in a file somewhere. So gettin gan accurate number of made guys in the early years is difficult. By the 1990s law enforcement has a pretty good list of who was active and who was not.

From what I understand, Butchie BiFulco is an incorrigible career criminal who will never stop doing what he does.
