Re: New Salvatore Catalano article
Thanks agian JD. I'm assuming after Rastelli was locked up again in 1984 is when Spero and Vitale assumed their leadership roles.
Were you ever able to figure out the UnderBoss situation after Marangello was demoted in 1979? I've seen both Ferrugia and Catalano mentioned as well as Massino (starting in 1981/2 for him). Thanks.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

So he was the acting boss, and for much longer than I would have thought. Thanks for filling us in.
Also thanks for confirming Licata's roots. Glad to know I didn't pull Palermo out of thin air. Did he have any known connections to Anthony Riela given that they were both Bonannos and the closeness of San Cipirello to San Giuseppe Jato?

Giuseppe Ganci was from San Giuseppe Jato, as well Frank Polizzi. Polizzi was really close to Riela.
as you know B., Riela was present at Pippo Bono's wedding, he was really close to that group of zips.
I was just checking out most my files and I do not have any american made guy born in San Cipirello except Licata.
there was another sicilian mafioso from San Giuseppe Jato who lived in New York in the 70s, he was named Rosario Baio. He later returned to sicily where he was killed. His son lives in New York where he runs a butcher shop

That's an interesting theory worth looking into. Based on surveillance it seems as if Dellacroce orchistrated the Galante hit. Wasn't it Baldo Amato seen hugging Galante after the murder?HairyKnuckles wrote:B. wrote:ADDING - It just struck me, if Dellacroce was somehow involved with the Licata killing, and considering his supervisory role he seems to have had in the Galante killing, he may have had a part in running the Bonannos, or atleast being a some sort of an executive or delagate with the powers to put plans, actions, or decisions of higher ups into effect during the lack of leadership the Bonannos suffered from in the mid 1970s. (Rastelli in jail, Galante under parole restrictions.)

No Bruno indelicato was seen hugging dellacroce
Re: New Salvatore Catalano article
I don't know that Dellacroce himself "orchestrated" the hit, as the hit was carried out by Bonanno members who were probably selected by Bonanno leaders. Cannone most likely played a large hand in planning the actual murder, as he was waiting at the Ravenite with Dellacroce and unlike Marangello he kept his position after the murder.
I would guess there were quite a few people who made their rounds after the murder letting know the leaders of various families what had happened, they just didn't get caught on video.

Cannone was another guy who was photographed with dellacroce
Re: New Salvatore Catalano article
Has anyone ever seen these photos of dellacroce and Cannone and Bruno Indelicato?......SoliaiHailbritain wrote:Cannone was another guy who was photographed with dellacroce
Re: New Salvatore Catalano article
I've seen it but it was many years ago in a Geraldo Rivera program on the mob from the late 80's. It had Bruno kissing Cannone on both cheeks outside the Ravenite. I've tried to find the actual footage again but to no avail.Soliai wrote:Has anyone ever seen these photos of dellacroce and Cannone and Bruno Indelicato?......SoliaiHailbritain wrote:Cannone was another guy who was photographed with dellacroce
Re: New Salvatore Catalano article
I've seen a snippet of the video that shows Indelicato approaching a handful of guys. I believe Cannone, Dellacroce, Giaccone, Al Indelicato, and possibly JB Indelicato were all waiting for him.
Here is the only thing I could find offhand, which is Cannone and Bruno Indelicato outside the Ravenite.

I got Francesco Baio murdered 10 March 1984 in San Giuseppe Jato. Is Rosario related with him?felice wrote:Giuseppe Ganci was from San Giuseppe Jato, as well Frank Polizzi. Polizzi was really close to Riela.

hm I should check it out but I do not think so
Re: New Salvatore Catalano article
Going through some older posts and digging this up because I didn't make the connection at the time, but it's an interesting coincidence if nothing else that D'Aquila was a Cali and lived in the same general area where Frank Cali's parents ended up having property, and Cali also ended up with the decina formerly headed by Jerome D'Aquila and made up of remnants of the D'Aquila faction decades earlier. Some of it would seem to be random, since Cali was connected to the John Gambino decina that was temporarily absorbed by the D'Amico crew (the one that traces back to D'Aquila), but it's still pretty incredible that Cali could be distantly related to the D'Aquilas and end up in a crew that traces directly back to the D'Aquilas.
