Jim Pace DEAD - CLEVE. Tony Delsanter's "Errand Boy"

Post by FriendofFamily »

Jim Pace the "Errand Boy" for Cleveland's Consigliere Tony Delsanter is DEAD:
Died July 16th, 2017 Age 78

http://www.vindy.com/news/tributes/2017 ... e-jim-pac/

He was from Akron and was a Car Dealer in Akron, then Kent, then Warren, Ohio (Tony's Turf) in 1974.

He hung out at Cherry's Top of the Mall in Warren/Niles Area of Ohio. He basically would fetch cars put on Tony's Coat for him and be his Gopher for anything Tony wanted. He was part of the "Holding Court" at Cherry's. My wife was with Tony Delsanter and her car wouldn't Start, so Tony made Jim Pace open up his dealership and get a couple of mechanics in to fix it late at night. Tony gave her his Cadillac to drive home and Jim Pace had to drive it to Akron in a Blizzard of a snow storm. Drop it off and get Tony's car back to him.

The Fed's and the locals ran the Plates when it was at my Wife's home. I will save that story for later.

Jim Pace and I never got along - he always would start up with me until I had someone straighten him out and he didn't bother me again.

Whatever my Wife wanted even after Tony died he would Jump and Run and NEVER gave her any grief because he KNEW what would happen to him.

As my Wife puts it - he was a big nothing - but he thought he was something when he would come to Akron and People who didn't know - would say Jim Pace - Jim Pace is coming like he was something.

His sister Elizabeth (Betty) married a LaFatch

I may expound a little later about him. At what level do you give credence to his Association with Tony Delsanter.

Jim's original Pontiac store was in Niles. He bought another store in Boardman from a friend of mine.
I believed Jim won a $100k. in Vegas a couple of decades ago.
He tried to get close with my Dad but Pops always knew he was a flunky that made money.
