The article below is about current New Orleans FBI SAC Jeffrey Sallet transferring to Chicago. Most may remember he was one of the lead agents involved in the takedown of Massino and others in the Bonanno family back in the early 2000s. He later transferred to New England where he directed the investigation that led to the takedown of Mannocchio and other Patriarca figures. Not sure why he was in New Orleans but him being moved to Chicago makes me wonder if there's a possible investigation of the Outfit in the future.

I'm live in Chicago area and I know the Outfit is not as strong as it used to be. But they still around. I am not sure right now where to rank them compared to other Families. Just off the top I would say they would rank right after the NY Families.

I would agree with that. Of course, outside of New York there is only a handful of families left besides Chicago. Namely New Jersey, New England, Philadelphia, and arguably Detroit.

I've read where they have been trying to nail Albert Vena for the Tony Zizzo hit or disappearance. I remember when there was alot of hits under Accardo and Aiuppa. Hits slowed down when DiFronzo was top dog. He had them more under the radar. That's funny because Accardo loved him because Cerone used to brag to him about how good of a killer he is.

I'm not saying the Sallet and Vena thing is tied together because the Vena rumor is a couple years old, but it's possible. According to rumor Sarno then the new street boss had Zizzo, captain of Marcello's old crew whacked over video poker machine territories. Vena is suspect in carrying out the hit. Marcello the old street boss tried to warn Zizzo by telling him to back down. But who knows the Outfit could have some big things currently going on for this Sallet to come to town. I heard DiFronzo has made alot of money. Read they were into alot of off shore gambling business.

She formed somewhat of a duo with Sallet in the Massino case. They were both 'forensic accountants' who slowly but surely made a strong case against 'The Ear'.
