Interesting the relationship between Cleveland and Detroit

leo moceri was in charge of Akron (summit county) but I believe he reported to jack white and had to clear anything major with Cleveland boss John Scalish.

There was no San Diego crew. A lot of ex-Detroiters moved to California and several joined up with the Los Angeles Family. Tony Mirabile, was a Los Angeles Family capo operating in San Diego. Nick Licata was with Detroit but had issues with the leadership and transferred to Los Angeles. Leo Moceri may have started with Detroit, but he went to Los Angeles then to the Cleveland Family. And some of the Detroit crews probably go back to the 1910s.

Tony Mirabile was NOT with Detroit. When Frank Bompensiero went to prison in the 1950s, Mirabile replaced him and he reported to Frank Desimone. Some of the Matrangas were with Detroit, but they were not part of a crew. They were individual members living in San Diego. There were also three different Matranga families. I did their family trees to determine their relationships, so some belonged to Los Angeles, some were ex-Detroit, and others were related to made members but weren't made themselves.

Suzanne Coe owned Cheetahs, and before her it was Jack Gallardi (or Galardi). The manager, John D'Intino, used to be a partner of Ted Matranga in the Viejas casino near Alpine, in the Cuyamaca Mountains in San Diego County.

And about Moceri and Licavoli, when they transfered to Cleaveland?

Leo Mocei:
born and raised in Detroit
he and his brothers were part of River Gang of the Detroit mob
moceri brothers are distance relatives of Licavoli's
Leo was arrested for numebreous murders in Detroit
in 1930, Yonnie Licavoli married to Zena Moceri, and after that he, Leo, James Licavoli and John Mirabella moved to Toledo
In 1934, after murder indictment, Licavoli Mirabella and Moceri fled the city
Moceri relocate to Califronia until his arest in 1951 when he was convinct for extortion
Released in 1957, and relocate to Warren

Like in my previous sources from Mary ferrel, Moceri and Licavoli more report Detroit than Scalish in 1960s

James Licavoli
born and raised in St Louis with his cousins
became a member of the Russo's gang with cousins
relocate to Detroit in 26-27, where his cousins were a prominent members of the underworld
arrested for the numerous murders in Detroit
in 1930 moved to Toledo
in 1934 fled the city
according to Fratianno, Licavoli lived in Cleaveland by the end 1930's
takes rackets in Youngstown from Frank Cammarata, after his deportation in 1946

ike in my previous sources from Mary ferrel, Moceri and Licavoli more report Detroit than Scalish in 1960s
