Bronx- relax before I put you on the shelf and treat you as a brokester! Now after doing a stretch - would you be up to do life at your old age today? How about in state prison which is worse than federal prison? I just had a conversation with someone who was in the AB in Attica. They laugh at the mob guys who come into the can because they are an easy payday in regards to providing protection. Prison is not easy and the old time image of Paul Sorvino in Goodfellas setting up his own kitchen on the cellblock is just that a movie. So Bronx - how about a bet with your freedom a//k/a/ parole - if Crea flips you agree to go back in and take his place.

NYNighthawk, I think you entered the wrong address in your GPS, the kid forum is down the street from here. Go back down the street for about 25 miles and hang a left on Middle School st, you will find GBB forum right at the corner of Toy's R Us. Your post will fit right in perfectly over there. If you pass ghost town st and AM and Gangster inc forum (you will know when you are at Gangster inc place when you start seeing people pushing K mart carts on the streets), you went too far, make a U turn and head back to Toy's R Us......Soliai

In terms of who is going to flip and give us information, the big assumption in there is that the testimony will be accurate and truthful. Yes, you have to tell the truth or your deal is gone, but unique information is just that. Quite likely that they will not be able to prove someone important lied, and quite possibly they won't care either if they get the result they want. The Casso example is one, but what are others? Not many compared to all the rats, a large portion of which were likely BS'g about some of it. If Crea flips, the expectation is that he will give us information unknown before. Accordingly, there will be only limited ways to prove he is lying.

Hell of a game to play and lose, the lying rat.
No Feds, no 'family'.
Man without a country.
Just ask Casso.

Sonny , you are so right about casso, his blood family does not speak to him either, even his daughter , he is exiting , that is it, the guy is getting all the evil back that he has done.even if he did not lie, how could the feds use him?, they would have looked evil themselves for embracing him. he killed good men for thinking that may rat and then he rats on them ,he kept records ,turn them over to the feds, he knew he would rat, he deserves to suffer every minute of his life. and live a very long one. scarpa, gravano , casso..serial killers and rats in their blood..

Teddy Persico wrote: Fri Jun 09, 2017 3:29 pm I don't buy this whole "hasn't served a substantial prison time" rational for him possibly flipping. No one has served substantial prison time until they do. He stepped up to acting boss/underboss when he was about 64. He would of known the next bust could of been an effective life sentence. I'm not going to comment on the son's murder charges until we see how strong the case is. The Feds have had a losing record lately when it comes to getting guilty verdicts for murder.

I respect your opinion. But as seen in the past when it comes to the underworld (not just Italian mob guys, but they're definitely included) the "never served substantial prison time" argument, is a valid one and in the past its definitly played a factor into guys cooperating. Not saying this is the automatic case with Crea, I dont believe I ever implied that, but for A LOT of supposed street and "tough" guys and "smart criminals", it does and has played a role.

95% of them serve the time. I can't even count the number of guys who have done or are doing 15+ years as their first stint.

I think 95% is kind of high. Personally I'd go 50/50, when considering organized crime as a whole, and not just Italians. If 95% of those kinds of guys did 15+ years, there wouldnt be so many rat stories. And many of these organizations, the mafia included would still have a lot of their former power, today.

50% Rat???

Ummm this is simply wrong.

Snakes is correct. Most serve time and dont flip. The % of rats is still remarkably low. Compared to before its high, but compared to the number of convictions its tremendously low.
