He was born in Philadelphia, raised in Camden, where Passalacqua operated like so many other members. Anthony Piccolo was an owner of the Medford Country Club where Sparacio and his cousin/associate Blaise Salvatore worked from.

I've tried to figure out where Sparacio's family is from but haven't narrowed it down. I'm curious because there were a number of Sparacios from Belmonte Mezzagno which was one of the most important early Sicilian groups in Philadelphia/South Jersey. I found an Ignazio Sparacio (Shotsie's father's name) who married a Cappello in Philly in 1915 but not sure it's the right one. There were other Ignazio Sparacios from Belmonte in Vineland and NYC.

I didnt know PIccolo owned the club. Makes sense now why it was a hangout for those guys.
