STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Two men were shot in the back of the head and killed Tuesday night in Dongan Hills.

A spokeswoman for the NYPD said there was a shooting at 124 Buel Ave. at approximately 6:15 p.m.

Officers found two men at that location, who were pronounced dead on arrival, the spokeswoman said.

Local resident Joe Salemmo, who has lived in the neighborhood his entire life, said he was walking up the block with a friend when he saw the officers on scene.

"The two officers came running out of the building and were looking for someone," he said. "It's scary what this neighborhood is coming to."

Police were canvassing the surrounding neighborhoods for a suspect. There was no description on the individual, but he was said to have fled toward Hylan Boulevard in a grey sedan.

Sounds like Clark was the intended target as he was a cooperating witness in another case. Is there any LCN connection?

Saw that on the news . There doesn't appear to be a LCN connection on the in the case where Clark was the whistleblower. Just typical dirty wallstreet business. No stock pump and dump which the mob is usually tied too. Could just be revenge from some hotheads at his old place of employment. I'd be surprised if it were a mob hit. That would be pretty brazen. These days they kill associates when there is the potential risk of indicmtents if they cooperate. But the article didn't say anything about that mortgage broker company being under investigation. Still early to tell if there was an active investigation into that mortgage business. So far looks like revenge and Genovese was in the wrong place at the wrong time. we shall see...

Possible that Genovese is related to that Genovese family? Possible that the shooter may be in more trouble than just with law enforcement?

I can totally see that. There are allot of scumbags running mortgage co.'s. Allot of them screw the loan officers out of money if they leave they don't pay them. I know guys that were owed $150k. Had to go to court just get about $40k of it.
