Really good find. I believe that leaves Joseph Gagliano as the only remaining made member left. Is Sammy Marcello still alive?

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.
Re: New Orleans Mafia Soldier Passes Away
Yea and everyone considers him as the village idiot. If i' my not mistaken, riggio was arrested once for pulling a pistol on gagliano. I think gagliano was bruising him up in a parking lot at a casino and riggio pulled a gun out the globe box. I think he beat the charge though
Re: New Orleans Mafia Soldier Passes Away
Don't know about Sammy, but Vincent Jr., is a pretty interesting character. I know of a couple of recent cases that he has been connected too, never directly though. Always seems to have that insulation, even though some things such as a brothel were being run on his property, he has no knowledge though, or the head chef at his restaurant, trafficking large amounts of marijuana. As far as a functioning hierarchy, with made guys kicking up, nah. A friend of mine's family owns some property in the quaternary, old Italian family, been in the city for generations. He said an envelope still goes to new york, but that's just hearsay

I believe Sam Marcello is dead but I cannot find his obituary. I think I found the obituary for his wife, and he is mentioned as being predeceased but I do not know for sure. I am going to go out on a limb and say he is dead.
Attaboi1, you definitely seem to be right about Gagliano, especially considering his recent arrest for driving around in that van with all those guns. No wonder the family there is dead.

Yeah man, I grew up there and have family and friends there, those guys are legit. Most of those families are millionaires now, living on the north shore, they don't even need that shit no more

If victor tusa is still alive, then he would be another made member alive.
Re: New Orleans Mafia Soldier Passes Away
Good case with Tusa in it back in 1997. US v Salvatore http://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-5th-circuit/1097301.html

Don't know, I know you can't go by a lot of that stuff though. A lot of that info is "iffy" at best.
Re: New Orleans Mafia Soldier Passes Away
Well New Orleans still has(at least when I was there a few yrs ago) illegal Video Poker Machines in allot of bars in the city. Someone is installing them and making money illegally. It might not be Italians...but someone is running that racket..
Re: New Orleans Mafia Soldier Passes Away
Poker machines are legal in louisiana
Re: New Orleans Mafia Soldier Passes Away
Almost every bar in South louisiana has them. Legal or illegal though, lot of money in that
