BOP Lying About Anthony Casso

Post by JerseyShine »

So some people may recall Casso being listed as being moved to a RRM in Minneapolis which was strange given his multiple life sentences(it was speculated he was working on a new deal, or it was because of his cancer). However as it turns out he is hidden in the North Dakota STATE pen.

It really is unusual, usually in these situations they will say the prisoner is "Not in BOP Custody." Anyone know why they are lying like this on their inmate locator?

One of several scenarios I can think of is that he has been subpoenaed to testify in a court case in NDAK. The MN field office is the closest RR office to NDAK. I believe the RR offices (nationwide) coordinate the movement of any sentenced BOP inmate when they go to court and are not kept in BOP custody.

As an aside, the BOP status of an inmate "Not in BOP custody" is used when a person convicted of a Federal (criminal) offense has yet to be incarcerated OR is not incustody due to any of several factors, including but not limited to waiting for/pending an appeal of one form or another.
Silence is often misinterpreted, but never misquoted.
