Great charts. I didn't think the Traficantes ever had a Consiglieri. Good stuff.

They were. They were given to me by Ken Sanz, a FLorida FDLE agent who specialized in OC. He investigated the Trafficantes for many years. They actually moved them front and center to that exhibit a few weeks ago when I was there.Antiliar wrote:nash143, I think those were donated by Scott
The Trafficantes had an advisory group of old timers that would serve almost as consilglieres, but that position was never a part of their hierarchy.

My book on the NJ mob should be out on late 2017/early 2018. Need to finish it first though!BeatiPaoli wrote:To SDeitche: Any books on the mafia, Florida or otherwise, in your future? I know you wrote definitive works with "Cigar City Mafia" and, especially, "The Silent Don," but it would be a shame if an excellent researcher such as yourself made no more contributions to that body of knowledge.

What's interesting is the far left side with Joe Campisi, Joe Marcello, and JOe Franco (Gambinos) as ties with other families.nash143 wrote:Here are a couple of photos I took of charts in the Mob Museum from a couple of years ago. They may help/be of interest.

Great stuff here guys. Florida is a family I know nothing about, outside of the Trafficante/Charlie Wall dispute. So any time I can learn more about Florida I appreciate. I just wish there were some good books out on the subject.

Yeah, and Joe's father Domenico was Santo' Jr's godfather. Domenico left Tampa around 1917 when Joe was born and moved to NYC.bronx wrote:JOE ARCURI'S godfather was Santo sr.
The Joe Franco on that chart above is Joe Arcuri's nephew.
John Alite told me when he was down in Tampa for Gotti Jr. in the early 90s, Joe Arcuri was the liaison between the Trafficante guys and the Gambinos due to his family connections to Tampa. That follows FDLE intel as well.
Re: Tampa/Trafficante Family Lineage
Alite told you right, you also have it spot on about utzumegedo if spelled it right
Re: Tampa/Trafficante Family Lineage
Mamone didn't really touch anyone in Tampa. Just his guys and the Raffa crew he was in. Mamone was a Jersey Guy who was an associate in the old John Digilio / Bayonne crew. His longtime partner in crime was Paul "Doc" Gaccione who went down for the same hit that got Angelo Prisco life. Doc's and Mamone's chances of getting made into the westside went down the tubes after DiGilio was killed. Mamone flew the coop to South FL in the 90s and Doc hung around but Prisco never made him and distance himself from him later. I am not sure how or who led Mamone to Raffa. Raffa was connected to Ligammari who was in NJ when he killed himself in 99' But I believe Ligammari, was in jail from the md 80s to the mid 90s. To be honest I don't know enough about Raffa either. If he was originally Tampa or NY ? Or even how he ended up in the Tampa mob.sdeitche wrote:Yeah, but he was only tied to the Miami faction under Steve Raffa and came from NY so didn't have the depth of knowledge of the family's Tampa lineage. His testimony and information was really relegated to Miami operations in the late 1990s.bronx wrote:hello S. didn't john marmone flip? he was made in that family ?.he flipped around 2002
I few questions for Scott on the current state of Tampa. Isnt it pretty much dead?? The Ronnie one Arm and Alite related indictments seem to indicate there were a few old Tampa associates working directly for the Gambinos? Like the the Gambino's moved into town and just took whatever was left of the family. The last sitting boss of the Tampa mob was alive and well thru-out the Gambino's entire reign down there.
Here is a good article on Mamone : http://www.browardpalmbeach.com/news/the-snitch-6343148

Re: Tampa/Trafficante Family Lineage
I don't have the full lineage for this family but the LoScalzo as UnderBoss from 1954-1987 part in incorrect. Pretty sure Diecidue was the UnderBoss for most of that time.

Re: Tampa/Trafficante Family Lineage
Ignazio Italiano, the guy with the walrus mustache who went to the 1928 Cleveland meeting, was the first boss. He died in 1930.

ST Sr. 1940 - about 1950. I believe that Trafficante Jr started playing a more significant role at this point, which was opposed by the Italiano faction (Sal Italiano, Jimmy Lumia, Sal Ferraro, others), which led to the internal war from 1950- late 1950s. A lot of house cleaning killings
1950ish- 1987 - Santo Jr.
(some sources say Acting boss in late 50s while Santo Jr was in Cuba was Salvatore Scaglione)
1987- current- LoScalzo
Underboss
1964- 94- Frank Diecidue (overheard on a wiretap in 1976 saying he couldnt wait for Santo to die so he could get top spot)
Re: Tampa/Trafficante Family Lineage
Some of the ealry lineage, like who was the underboss, will never 100% be clear. I've been researching them for years and couldn't say for certain. Sal Scaglion, Nino Diecidue, Augustine Primo Lazzara- all could be potential names as they were considered major influential figures.Pogo The Clown wrote:I don't have the full lineage for this family but the LoScalzo as UnderBoss from 1954-1987 part in incorrect. What can be unequivocally stated is that none of Santo Jr.s brothers that were active- Henry, Sam Fano- ever held that position.
